A. WHAT ARE THEY DOING ? ( A1 , A2 , A3 )

I/ Objectives : Through the lesson :
- Ss can name kinds of sports and pastimes in English
- They can also ask and answer about sports they play
II/ Language :
1/ Structures : + Present simple tense
+ Present progressive tense
2/ Vocabulary: swim , skip , badminton , jog , do aerobics .
III/ Teaching aids : tape , textbook , picture
IV/ Lesson format :
1/ Warm up : T asks some questions :
- What do you do every morning / afternoon / evening ?
- Do you play soccer everyday ?
2. Presentation :
Teacher’s and students’ activities:
- T has Ss look at the pictures and introduces
the activities happening in the pictures.
- T introduces words and asks Ss to guess the
meaning ( basing on the pictures )
- Ss repeat the words after teacher
- Some Ss read aloud the words before class.

- T should note the usage of jog and skip
- Ss listen to the tape and read the sentences in


the part A1
- T calls some Ss read aloud these sentences
before class to get T’s correction
3. Comprehension Check :
- T has Ss practice asking – answering about
what the people in the pictures are doing
( work in pair )
- After that , some pairs of Ss present their
work to class ( book closed , Ss use the
pictures in the part A1 prepared by teacher )
4. Practice :
- Ss listen to the tape and repeat twice
- T asks Ss to practice speaking in pairs ( one
asks – one answer )
- Then some pairs present their work to class.
