LESSON 61: PERSONAL HYGIENE. A1-2 (P.99)
I- Objectives:
- After the lesson students will be able to read and understand the lesson from
Hoa's mother.
II- Preparations:
Materials: Textbook, workbook, teacher's notes.
Equipment: Tape English 7, stereo.
III- Teaching process:

B- Presentation:
I, A1. Read. Then answer the questions ( P.W.P)
* Pre:
T introduces about Hoa and her family by asking some questions.
Where does she come from?
Which school does she study in?
Where does she live now?
Who does she live with?


Where do her parents live?
T asks Ss to guess what Hoa's mother tells her to do in the letter.
+ Teaching new word (Techniques: translation, pictures)


Take morning exercise: tập thể dục buổi sáng
Get up early: dậy sớm
Don't eat too much candy or stay up late: không ăn quá nhiều kẹo hoặc thức
khuya
Remember to washand iron clothes: nhớ giặt và là quần áo
Helpful(a): giúp ích
Take care of oneself: Tự quan tâm đến bản thân
* While:
Ss read the letter in silence.
Ss read individually
T asks: What does Hoa' mom tell her to do?
Ss work in pair's answers the questions.
a. They are busy because it is almost harvest time.
b. Hoa's grandfather helps them on the farm.
c. They will ( hope to ) go to Ha Noi soon, after the harvest.
d. Now Hoa is different. She gets up early and does morning exercises every day.
e. Hoa's mother wants her to do her own washing and ironing.
Hoa's mother doesn't want her to eat too much candy, stay up late, get up late.
* Post:
Ss discuss in-groups about activities they do every day to keep personal hygiene.

II, A2. Listen and put the pictures in order ( P.W.P)
* Pre:
T asks Ss to look at the pictures and guess what Hoa did.
Ss guess in groups.
T introduces the requirement of the listening exercise.
+ Teaching new words (Techniques: translation, pictures)
1. New words:
to polish: đánh, chải bóng.
to change: thay, thay đổi
pants: quần
sandals: dép, xăng đan.
+ Rub out and remember for checking new words.
* While:
Students listen to the tape twice and put the pictures in order.
Students listen again and check the answer.
Teacher corrects mistakes if necessary.

I- Objectives:
- After the lesson students will be able to talk about their daily activities to keep
personal hygiene.
II- Preparations:
Materials: Textbook, workbook, teacher's notes.
Equipment: Tape English 7, stereo.
III- Teaching process:
1- Class- organization:
2- Oral or written test:

S1 writes the past form of the verbs.
Go, see, visit, buy, return, drink, eat, look, think.
S2 completes the sentences with suitable verbs above.
1, He… some souvenirs last week.
2, We… to school on foot yesterday.
3, My mother… a lot of milk last night.
4, Lan….sharks, fish and dophins.
3- New lesson:
A- Warm up: Questions and answers.
What do you do every morning/ every day?

B- Presentation:
I- A3. Read Nam's dairy. (P.P.P)
* Presentation:


T introduces Nam's diary and make example exchange.
Ex:

S1: What time does Nam get up?
S2: He gets up at 6.30.

Or

S1: What does Nam do at 6.30?
S2: He gets up.

* Practice.
Students work in pairs, asking and answering the questions.
Students look at the diary and practice.

* Production:
Students base on Nam's diary to write their own diary. Then they practice asking
and answering about themselves.
Ex: S1: What do you do everyday?
What time do you get up?
What do you do at …?
S2: I get up at…
II, A4. Write. Complete Hoa's reply to her mother with suitable word.
( P.W.P)
* Pre- writing:
T repeats some information about the letter from Hoa's mom.
T asks students to guess what Hoa answers to her mom.
* While- writing:
Students complete the letter.
October 20th
Dear Mom,
Thanks for your letter. I'm glad to hear you are well. I'm doing fine at school. At
first, everything was strange and difficult. Now, I am having a lot of fun. I hope
you will visit Ha Noi after the harvest. We will show you around the city.


Don't worry about me, Mom. I know how to take care of my self. Everyday,
I get up early to take morning exercises, and I never go to bed late. I often wash
my clothes and iron them carefully. I am not eating much candy now.
I told all of my friends about your visit, and they all hope to see you in Ha Noi. It
is 9.30 now, so I must go to bed.
Take care, Mom. Write again soon.

I- Objectives:
- After the lesson students will be able to read, ask and answer about tooth, using
these phrases: fill a cavity, fix one's tooth, scared, hurt, dentist.
II- Preparations:
Materials: Textbook, workbook, teacher's notes.
Equipment: Tape English 7, stereo.

III- Teaching process:

2- Oral or written test:
S1 does exercise A3 (b,c,d)
S2 does exercise A3 (e,f)
Teacher corrects mistakes if necessary.
3- New lesson:
A- Warm up:
Game: Pelmaniom about verbs in Hoa's letter to her mom.

* Presentation:
T presents the picture B1. And asks students some questions.

A- Warm up:
Guessing: Teacher describes some jobs.
Students guess the jobs.
Ex: Teacher: He works in the hospital> He takes care of the patients. He wears
white clothes.
Students: He is a doctor.
Teacher He works at the dentist's. He takes cares of people's teeth. He wears
uniform.
Students: He is a dentist.
B- Presentation:

* Pre- listening:Introduction: Teacher retell the story about Minh and his
appointment with the dentist.
