Third person singular spelling rules:
1. Most of the verbs take letter “-s”.
Example: Work = Works
2. Verbs ending in “sh/ch/o/x/ss” add “-es”.
Example:
Teach = Teaches
Wash = Washes
Go= Goes

Fix=Fixes

Kiss=Kisses

3. Verbs ending in a consonant + “y”. Drop “y” and add “-ies”
Example: Fly=Flies / Study=Studies

and give short answers with all verbs (except be) in the simple
present.

Note: We don’t use do or does with be.
Are you a nurse? NOT Do you be a nurse?
