I.

Introduce yourself
Hi everybody!
Today, I am going to introduce myself. My name is Thanh
Nguyen. According to my mother, ‘ Thanh’ means clarity
and pure, ‘Nguyen’ is the origin and natural. My mother
call me “ Thanh Nguyen” because she hope I’ll have clarity
and pure souls, always playful. I love my name very much.
I’m from Thotnot district, Cantho city. Cantho is my town,
its famous for Floating Market where people sell and buy
things on the river. At the moment, I am a freshman in
university of economics and finances, so I live in
Hochiminh city. But my parents still live in Cantho city and
we always visit me once a month. There are six people in
my family: my parents, three older sisters and me. I love
them very much. These days, my hobby is listening to
music in freetime. I mostly like listening to pop music, and
I also like country music and R&B music. Sometimes, I
think that reading book, travelling or playing sport is also
interesting. It make me feel relaxed, comfortable and fun.
In the future, I wanna become a good hotel manager. That

Your last vacation
Hi everyone!
Today, I would like to tell you about my last vacation. As

know you, in our country, summer vacation is the longest
vacation in a year. So, I decided to go on vacation in


summer. Each year, I often go to the beach with my family
or my relative in the summer. But last summer vacation, my
mother allowed me go to the beach with my friend. My
friend is a friendly girl. We learnt in secondary school
together. So far we have been close friend. I had many
memories with my friend and it had an impresion on me. In
last summer vacation, we went to Hatien beach. We spent
two days on vacation.There were six people in the trip. We
stayed in her relative’s house near beach. And my friend
and I stayed in a wonderful room. In there, we can see
sunrise in the early morning.On vacation, we slept only five
hours a day and the rest time we went swimming, went
sightseeing and went on cruises. In the morning, we got up
early to see sunrise sight. It was vere peaceful and quiet in
the early morning. In the eveing, we went along seaside.
We took many photograph and had a lot of seafood.
Seafood was really delicious. I felt very happy in the trip.
On last day, there was a small problem with me. I left one’s
phone in her relative’s houses in Hatien. Fortunately, my
friend has taken my phone to me. After two days, we came
back home. Besides, I also bought some nice gift for my
parents and my sisters. I think that I had a great time in my
life.

Writing: Describe my favourite photo
Hi everyone!


Today, I would like to talk to you about my favourite photo.
One of favourite photos is this one of me and my friends.
My older brother took the photo in the summer of 2016 at
our party in my garden. That day, we passed the entrance
examination, so we had a party to celebrate. We cooked
meals and prepaired everthing to start the party. After that,
we had some food, sang a song together. We had a lot of
fun at our party. At that moment, we were dancing together.
Suddenly, my older brother came near and took a photo. In
this picture, we were really not good but I still like it.
I love this photo because it reminds me of a memorable day
with my friends.
We printed and framed the photo. I also posted this photo
on my facebook.

AN INFORMAL EMAIL
Task1:
Dear Omar,
Thank you for your email. We’re very happy that you’re
coming to stay with us this summer and we’re sure you’re
going to enjoy your stay with us.
What time are you arriving at Newpark Airport? If you
send us your flight number, we cam meet all you in the
arrivals area. Can you send us your cell phone number, too?

Could you also give us some other information? What day
are you going back to Peru? Is there anything you can’t eat
and drink? Do you want your own room, or would like to
share a room with another student? Is there anything special
you would like to do or see in the US?

Dear Emily,
Thanks for your reply. The photo attached I saw your
family very friendly and happy. I think that I am going to
have a nice experience and meaningful with your family
this summer.
I booked my flight. I’m flying from Lima on American
Airlines, flights number 579. I’m leaving Lima at 22.30 p.m
on Monday, June 11, 2016. I’m arriving at Newark airport
at 7.30 a.m on Tuesday, June 12, 2016. If you need
anything, you can call me at 123-5757.
I’m going to the US to study, so I’m staying about 1 month.
I’m going to go back to Peru when I finish learing in the
US. And don’t wory, I am very easy to eat and drink.
If there are other students, I’m willing to share a room.
Actualy, I would like to visit Las Vegas. I’m sure it’s
wonderful.

DESRIBING A PERSON
Hello Eric,
My name is Thanh Nguyen. You can call me Claire. I’m
from Vietnam, and I live with my parents in Cantho city.
Cantho is my hometown, its famous for Floating market
where people buy and sell things on the river. I’m 18 years
old. I’m studying hotel manager at university of Economic
and finance in Hochiminh City. I’m a freshman.
I’m going to tell you about myself. As you can see from the
photo. I have long straight black hair and brown eyes. My
mother always says I have a nice smile.
I think I’m a quiet person. I don’t like noisy. In free time, I
often read book or listen music. Do you now Shane Filan.
He’s an Irish singer. I really like his music.
