UNIT 12: THE ASIAN GAMES
(Listening)

A. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know the information about the Asian
Games.
B. Method: Communicative Approach.
C. Teaching aids: Books, blackboard, chalk, handouts, pictures, PowerPoint.
D. Procedure:

Teacher’s activities
I. Warm-up: Slap the board
- Divide the class into 2 groups.
- Each group chooses 6 representatives to go to the
board and play the game.
- Stick some pictures related to different kinds of
sports on the board.
- Call out names of sports in English.
- Ask students to take turns to listen to these names
and slap the correct pictures.
- Each right picture will get 10 points.
- The group with higher points will be the winner.

- Introduce the new lesson: “Today we are going to
hear the information about the Asian Games.”

II. Before you listen:
1. Vocabulary.
- Give new words on the screen one by one.
- Use definitions, examples, pictures to make the
meaning of the new words clear.

- Ask students to guess the word meaning.
- Read these words loudly and ask ss to repeat.
- Give each student a handout on these new words.

them into Vietnamese.

he/she is.
