Monitor and Case computer
I- the monitor
The computer monitor is an output device that is
part of your computer
’
s display system. A cable
connects the monitor to a video adapter (video
card) that is installed(®Æt) in an expansion slot on
your computer’s motherboard. This system
converts(thay ®æi) signals into text and pictures
and displays them on a TV-like screen (the
monitor).

The first step is to find the CD Drive. It is at the top of your
CPU.

Find the small button on the lower right side of the CPU. This
is the open and close button. Press it once.
When you press the button, the CD tray (khay)will open. Once
it opens, place a CD in the tray.
Press the open and close button once more. The CD will go
back into the drive. Once it goes in, it starts to run. Once it
runs, the program can start because the computer will be able to
find the information it needs on the CD
This is what is happening to the CD once the tray goes back
into the CD drive. It is spinning(xoay tron) so the computer will
be able to find the information it needs
The Zip drive. A Zip drive is used to save very large files. It
holds 100 megabytes. Usually these are used for pictures.
The floppy disk drive.A removable magnetic disk inside a flat
plastic case which is used to store date.It is used to save
smaller files such as word processing files. It holds about 1.2
megabytes. You have to be very careful in how you use a
floppy.
Computer power supply unit (Computer PSU) (Ngu n m©y tinh) isồ
the component that supplies power to a computer.
Inside the computer power supply is a complex arrangement of
electrical components, including diodes, capacitors,
transistors(bong ban dan) and transformers
(ports on the back of your computer)
External devices connect to ports at the back of the computer.
Serial port
A connection or interface on the computer used to connect a serial
device to the computer.such as serial printer, a mouse might be
connected to COM1 and a modem to COM2 and other computer
It plugs into the parallel port

A parallel port is a type of interface
found on computers for connecting
various peripherals. It is also known as a
printer port
If you have a printer connected to your
computer, there is a good chance(co hoi)
that it uses the parallel port .
Video Graphics Array (VGA)
The monitor connects to the video VGA port.
Ethernet port
Ethernet ports look like a standard telephone
plug, but are slightly larger (eight wires
instead of four). Locate the network port in
your room or office.
Key board port and
mouse look the same
but they have labels to
avoid confusion
