Được dùng để so sánh giữa 2 người hay 2 vật.

Được dùng để so sánh giữa 3 người hay 3 vật trở lên

1/Present Simple tense(hiện tại đơn)
*Form

VD:She teaches English in a high school. Nam doesn’t go to school on Sunday.
*Use: Diễn tả 1 sự việc xảy ra ở hiện tại , hoặc 1 sự việc lặp đi lặp lại , 1 thói quen , 1 chân lí, sự
thật hiển nhiên,
*Signals: everyday/ week, always , usually,often, sometimes….
Notes: nếu chủ ngữ là ngôi thứ 3 số ít hầu hết các động từ thường phải thêm”s”hoặc “es”

(ngoại trừ các động từ khiếm khuyết như can, must, should…)
Động từ tận cùng là o. sh,ch, x,ss,z,khi chia với ngôi thứ 3 số ít thì phải thêm “es”
VD: We often go to school in the morning.
She goes to school by bike everyday.
Động từ tận cùng là “y” phải đổi thành “i” trước khi thêm “es”(ngoại trừ trước “y” là một nguyên
âm thì không thay đổi mà chỉ thêm “s”)
VD :At school,we study many things.
In Geogropgy, she studies different countries and their people
He often plays soccer in the afternoon.
2/Present Progressive tense(Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)
*Form :
Verbs affirmative negative Question
Ordinary verbs S+is/am/are+V-ing S+is/am/are+not+V-ing Is/Am/Are+S+V-ing
*Use: diễn ta một hành động đang xảy ra trong lúc nói
*Signals: now, at the moment, at this time, at present,Look!, Listen!, hurry up!, …
VD: Nga is listening to music in her room now
Nam and Dung are studying in the library at the moment.
Look!the birbs are flying.

Dùng để chỉ mức độ thường thường xuyên của hành động
Dùng TTTS để trả lời cho câu hỏi:”How often”
°Always 100% °Ngoài ra chúng ta còn:Every, once, twice, three times…
°Usually 99-90% °TTTS đứng sau To Be; Trước động từ thường.
°Often 90-75% Ex:I always get up early.
°Sometimes 75-25%
