HOW NAM HAS IMPROVED HIS ENGLISH
In the first year of lower secondary school, I had some difficulties in learning English. My
English pronunciation was really bad and my English grammar was worse. I did not know how to
improve them. I didn’t want my parents to know about this.
One afternoon after the lesson, my teacher of English told me to wait for her outside the
classroom. She took me to the school library and showed me cassettes of pronunciation drills kept

Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3rd, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father was an
expert in phonetics, the study of the sounds of languages. As a boy, Bell became interested in
sounds and speech. He emigrated to Canada first and then to the USA in 1870s. In America, he
worked with deaf – mutes at Boston University. Soon, Bell began experimenting with ways of
transmitting speech over a long distance. This led to the invention of the telephone. He worked with
