- Câu điều kiện loại III là câu
điều kiện không có thực trong
quá khứ
Mang tính ước muốn trong quá khứ, một giả thiết trái
ngược với thực trạng ở quá khứ

2. Cấu trúc

If clause ( mệnh đề if )
 
S + had + V3/ed

Main clause ( mệnh đề chính )
 
S+ would/could/might … + have +

V3/ed

Ex: If he had come to see me yesterday, I would have
taken him to the movies
( Nếu hôm qua anh ấy gặp tôi thì tôi đã đưa anh ấy đi xem
phim )

3. Cách sử dụng

Ex: If you'd been a bit more careful, you wouldn't have cut yourself. 
(Nếu bạn cẩn thận hơn một chút thì bạn sẽ không bị đứt tay .) 
Ex: If I hadn't fallen ill and missed the interview, I might have got the
job. 
(Nếu tôi không ngã bệnh và bỏ cuộc phỏng vấn thì tôi có thể đã nhận
được việc làm này rồi.)

4. Lưu ý

– Past participle là dạng quá khứ hoàn thành của
động từ.
– Bổ ngữ có thể không có, tùy ý nghĩa của
câu.
– Chủ ngữ 1 và chủ ngữ 2 có thể trùng
nhau.
– Mệnh đề IF có thể đứng trước hoặc sau mệnh đề

chính.
– Bên mệnh đề có if, chữ had, chữ were và chữ should
có thể đem ra đầu câu thế cho if.

4. Lưu ý

Ex :
- If he should call, …. = Should he call,….
- If I were you, …= Were I you, ….
- If she had gone there, …..= Had she gone there,….
