I/ Tính từ và trạng từ:
A- Tính từ:
CHỨC NĂNG NGỮ PHÁP CỦA TÍNH TỪ
Xét về chức năng ngữ pháp, tính từ có 2 chức năng chính:
là đứng trước danh từ làm bổ ngữ cho danh từ (attributive adjectives): a beatiful house
và đứng sau động từ liên hệ làm vị ngữ (predicative adjectives) ví dụ: she is beautiful.
1. Tính từ đứng trước và bổ nghĩa cho danh từ: (Adjectives as modifiers for nouns (attributive
adjectives)):
A beautiful house

2. Adjectives stand behind linking verbs (predicative adjectives)

She is beautiful.

Đa phần tính từ có thể vừa đứng trước danh từ và làm bổ ngữ cho danh từ, vừa có thể đứng sau động
từ liên hệ . Ví dụ:
She is nice. √
She is a nice woman √
+ Một số động liên hệ (Liking verbs) đã học trong chương trình:
Feel, taste, sound, smell, become, seem,
Phần này học sinh có thể hiểu theo cách khác là: “Sau các liking verbs thì phải sử dụng tính từ”
Ví dụ:
Students may become tired and dizzy after playing games.

B- Trạng từ:
Trạng từ là từ dùng để bổ nghĩa cho động từ, tính từ, một trạng từ khác hay cho cả câu. Vị
trí: Trạng từ thường đứng trước từ hay mệnh đề mà nó cần bổ nghĩa. Nhưng cũng tùy trường hợp
câu nói mà người ta có thể đặt nó đứng sau hay cuối câu.

B.1. Phân loại trạng từ
Trạng từ có thể được phân loại theo nghĩa hoặc theo vị trí của chúng trong câu. Tuỳ theo ý nghĩa
chúng diễn tả, trạng từ có thể được phân loại thành.( Trong chương trình Tiếng Anh 7 học kỳ 2 chỉ
nhấn mạnh loại trạng từ thể cách, và mối liên hệ của trạng từ này và tính từ.)

B.2. Trạng từ chỉ thể cách (manner)
Diễn tả cách thức một hành động được thực hiện ra sao hay dùng để trả lời các câu hỏi với How

Ví dụ: He runs fast. She dances badly. I can sing very well.

(How does he run? How does she dance?)
Vị trí của trạng từ chỉ thể cách thường đứng sau động từ hoặc đứng sau tân ngữ (nếu như
có tân ngữ).
Ví dụ: She speaks well English. [không đúng].
She speaks English well. [đúng]
I can play well the guitar. [không đúng]
I can play the guitar well. [đúng]
Chú ý: Nhiều tính từ và trạng từ trong tiếng Anh có cách viết tương tự vì vậy phải dựa vào cấu
trúc và vị trí của chúng để xác định xem đâu là tính từ và đâu là trạng từ.
Ví dụ: A late student arrived late.

B.3. Cách hình thành trạng từ chỉ thể cách:
Chú ý: Một số tính và trạng từ có cách viết và đọc giống nhau và một số cặp tính từ/

trạng từ bất qui tắc.

Tính từ + -ly : Phần lớn trạng từ chỉ thể cách có hể được thành lập bằng cách thêm -ly vào
tính từ:

famous for (nổi tiếng)

That singer is famous for helping the poor.

fond of (thích)

She is fond of having picnics.

happy about (vui mừng)

He was happy about winning the lottery.

interested in (thích)

She is interested in becoming a doctor.

proud of (tự hào)

He was proud of having completed the marathon.
(Anh ta tự hào là đã hoàn tất cuộc marathong.)

scared of (sợ)

Tina is scared of being alone at night.

tired of (chán)

My mother is tired of making dinner every night.

worried about (lo lắng)

The students are worried about the coming examination.

III/ Một số cụm từ trong học kỳ 2:

A wide/ good selection of:
Set the table with: dọn bàn ăn
Good for: tốt cho
Good at (V-ing/ Noun): giỏi (làm gì/ môn gì)
In moderate amount of food: với lượng thức ăn vừa đủ
Eat sensibly:
A balanced: bữa ăn cân đối
Plenty of = a lot of

Stay fit and healthy: Giữ dáng và khỏe mạnh
Key to (+ V-ing/ Noun): chìa khóa dẫn đến
Millions of + danh từ số nhiều/ million+ danh từ số nhiều (chữ million không có “s”)
Advantage: ích lợi # disadvantage (bất lợi)

Little/ a little (of) + danh từ không đếm được
Few/ a few (of) + danh từ số nhiều

IV/ Modal verbs:

Could (có thể, chỉ khả năng- trong quá khứ)
Must (chỉ sự bắt buộc, hay luật pháp yêu cầu
Should/ ought to (khuyên bảo)
