I. ANALYSIS OF THE NATURE AND RELATIONS BETWEEN THE
TWO FUNDAMENTAL THEORY MOTIVATE WORKERS

1. The concept of labor force
a. Concept: The driving force is the labor factor in stimulating the human work
effort in creating the conditions for productive efficiency. Expression of motivation is
the readiness effort, passion to work to achieve organizational goals as well as their
own employees.
b. The relationship between the needs, interests and motivation of workers:
Demand is the mentality that people feel the lack, not satisfied about something. In any
society, people also need to have certain conditions to survive and grow. Along with
the development of society, the system of human needs increasingly rich and varied.
Unfulfilled demand will create stress and tension often stimulates the motor
inside the individual. The engine will generate a quest to satisfy the demand.
In the process of create motive force for laborers, these house management
needed to apply the doctrines. There are many different theories mentioned problems
and motivate employees. Each theory refers to the different aspects.
2. Maslow's hierarchy of needs

Figure 1: Maslow's hierarchy of needs

Page

Maslow hypothesized that within every human being there exists a system of
five hierarchical needs:

Physiological needs are a basic need of human needs including food,

accommodation, clothing, transportation ... and other physical needs. This is to ensure
the demand for human survival.

Safety Needs: As the demand for security and protection from the harmful

physical and emotional. Needs include physical safety, financial, health, safe from
accidents and unforeseen factors.
 Social Needs: As the demand for love, friendship and feeling attached, the
demand is accepted.

Esteem

Needs,

including

self-worth,

independence,

achievement,

recognition and respect from others. Needs to satisfy this kind of power, prestige, status
and self-confidence.

Self-actualization Needs: It is desirable to progress and self-improvement

and promotion of their potential.
According to him, the act of a person at a given moment is determined by the
needs of their most powerful. In fifth grade he gave then is the physiological needs and

demands tend to be highest strength. When this demand is basically satisfied, the next
demand will manage. This theory poses for managers need to understand the needs of
workers, firstly satisfy physiological needs of man then will gradually increase to the
higher demand.
3. Two - factor theory of Herzberg
According to Herzberg, there are two factors that impact on people related to job
satisfaction and job dissatisfaction are:
1) Maintain momentum factor: Including the factors of external
environment, such as policies, mechanisms of the company, the supervision,
inter-personal relations, working conditions and wages.
2) Promote motivation factors: Includes those factors job satisfaction
of workers, such as achievement, recognition, work itself, responsibility and
advancement.
Page

From this theory, managers should pay more attention to the second factor, two
factors that combine to motivate employees.
When people feel their job, their responsibility for the business and feel honored,
the employee will be more responsible for their work. They work more enthusiastic,
more energetic and more efficient. Desire of workers that is being promoted along with
the development of the business, it showed them that they become more mature through
the enterprise, giving them develop their abilities in the development of business
industry.
4. The relationship between theories of Maslow and Herzberg
Need

Behavious

Satisfaction

The level of satisfaction higher the labor force creates larger, more positive
people to work. When human needs are concerned, the employee will understand that
their work will benefit them to satisfy their own objectives. On the business when
employees feel that the attractiveness of work, they will work more effectively, improve
productivity, reduce production costs improve competitiveness of enterprises on field.
Motivating employees is also satisfying the basic needs of workers. Thus, we
will see many similarities between and associated theory of Maslow's needs pyramid
theory two factors affecting motivation of Herzberg.
a. The similarity
According to Maslow's theory needs the physiological needs and safety are very basic
needs and to respond first. If these two needs are not met, people will arise against the
state, discontent and insecure work. Wages and working conditions where workers get
to meet their needs exist and to be consistent with the person's capacity. Thus we see the
similarities between physiological needs and factors of wages, working conditions in
the theory of Herzberg.
According to Herzberg factors such as workplace safety, fair management and
workflow as well as maintaining factors. Compared needs Maslow pyramid we find the

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS

People not only differ in the ability to act, but also different in terms of willed
action or impulse. Impulse depends on the strength of the engine. The engine is
sometimes identified as a need, desire, energy or the impulse of the individual.
Understand that managers should pay more attention to satisfying the basic needs of
humans, stimulating material benefits and employee morale, promoting workers eager
to work, generate interest in the work or is creating incentives for employees.
In studies to learn about the labor force had better understand the role of
motivation and impetus for all activities of employees, the factors affecting motivate
employees. From there I see right over and come up with many solutions to motivate
employees for my company personnel.
