LỜI MỞ ĐẦU

Trong chương trình Tiếng Anh THPT hiện nay, câu trực tiếp gián tiếp là một
ngữ pháp hết sức quan trọng. Câu trực tiếp gián tiếp xuất hiện rất nhiều trong
các kì thi THPT QG, vì vậy việc nắm vững lý thuyết sẽ giúp học sinh nâng được
điểm thi.
Muốn làm tốt được các bài tập trắc nghiệm về câu trực tiếp gián tiếp thì học
sinh cần phải nắm được các vấn đề cơ bản liên quan đến đại từ, thì của động từ,
các dạng câu trực tiếp gián tiếp và cách chuyển, chuyển từ hình thức làm các bài
tập tự luận sang bài tập trắc nghiệm và ngược lại . Từ thực tế đó, tôi đã mạnh
dạn đưa nội dung “Câu gián tiếp và các dạng bài tập thực hành” vào giảng
dạy và bồi dưỡng cho đối tượng học sinh lớp 12 với thời lượng là 9 tiết. Sau khi

học sinh đã nắm vững kiên thức cơ bản và nâng cao,có thể vận dụng để giải các
dạng bài tập, các em sẽ thường xuyên được củng cố và ôn lại nội dung này trong
các tiết làm đề luyện thi THPT quốc gia.
Ở chuyên đề này, tôi tập trung vào một số vấn đề lý thuyết và bài tập của
câu trực tiếp gián tiếp như những thay đổi khi chuyển từ câu trực tiếp sang gián
tiếp, các dạng câu trực tiếp gián tiếp, một số dạng đặc biệt của câu trực tiếp gián
tiếp trong Tiếng anh… và một số dạng bài tập viết, bài tập trắc nghiệm tương
ứng để củng cố cho phần kiến thức ở trên , nhằm giúp học sinh hiểu và nắm
được những kiến thức cơ bản và nâng cao của câu trực tiếp gián tiếp để các em
có thể làm tốt các dạng bài tập trắc nghiệm về câu trực tiếp gián tiếp trong Tiếng
Anh.
Trên thực tế, học sinh đã đựơc làm quen với hiện tượng ngữ pháp này ngay
từ bậc học THCS. Ở bậc THPT, trong chương trình học chính khóa, học sinh
được củng cố những kiến thức đã học ở lớp dưới và tiếp nhận thêm những kiến
thức ở mức độ sâu hơn. Tuy nhiên, để có thể đạt được kết quả cao trong kỳ thi
THPTGQ thì ngoài việc củng cố lại kiến thức cơ bản trong SGK, giáo viên còn
phải bổ trợ thêm kiến thức nâng cao từ các nguồn tài liệu tham khảo cho học
sinh. Đồng thời người dạy phải soạn, sưu tầm các dạng bài tập khác nhau để
học sinh có thể áp dụng kiến thức đã học vào để giải các bài tập đó và học sinh
sẽ tự tin khi bước vào các kì thi một cách tốt nhất.

A. LÝ THUYẾT:
I. Định nhĩa về câu trực tiếp gián tiếp:
Có hai cách để thuật lại những gì mà người nào đó đã nói: trực tiếp và gián tiếp.
- Câu trực tiếp là câu lặp lại chính xác lời của người nói
Ex: Bill said “ I don’t like this party”
Lời nói trực tiếp được đặt trong dấu ngoặc kép và sau động từ chính có dấu phảy
hoặc dấu hai chấm
Đơi khi mệnh đề chính cũng được dặt sau lời nói trực tiếp.
Ex: “ I do not like this party” Bill said
- Lời nói gián tiếp là tường thuật lại ý của người nói, đơi khi khơng cần phải dung
đúng từ của người nói.
Ex: Bill said that he didn’t like that party
II. Những thay đổi cần lưu ý khi chuyển từ câu trực tiếp sang câu gián tiếp
1. Thay đổi về đại từ nhân xưng, đại từ sở hữu, tính từ sở hữu:
Ngôi: theo ngun tắc NHẤT CHỦ, NHÌ TÂN, TAM NGUN
- Đổi ngôi thứ NHẤT phù hợp với CHỦ TỪ
trong mệnh đề chính
- Đổi ngôi thứ HAI phù hợp với TÂN NGỮ trong
mệnh đề chính
- Ngôi thứ BA không đổi
Ex: “ I (ngơi 1) want to meet you (2) and your (2)sister at the meeting”
→ Jack (chủ từ) told me(tân ngữ) he wanted to meet me and my
sister.

* Chú ý: Một số trường hợp không đổi thì của động từ trong câu gián tiếp:
- Nếu động từ ở mệnh đề giới thiệu được dùng ở thì hiện tại đơn, hiện tại tiếp
diễn, hiện tại hoàn thành hoặc tương lai đơn, thì của động từ trong câu gián
tiếp vẫn không thay đổi
Eg: He says/ he is saying/ he has said/ he will say, “ the text is difficult”.
 He says/ is saying/ has said/ will say (that) the text is difficult.
- Khi câu nói trực tiếp thể hiện một chân lý hoặc một hành động lặp lại thường
xuyên, thì của động từ trong câu gián tiếp vẫn không thay đổi
Eg: My teacher said “The sun rises in the East”
 My teacher said (that) the sun rises in the East.
He said, ‘My father always drinks coffee after dinner’
 He said (that) his father always drinks coffee after dinner
- Câu trực tiếp có dạng câu điều kiện loại 2 hoặc loại 3: Giữ nguyên thi
không thay đổi.
Eg: He said; “If I knew her address, I would write to her”
 He said that he would write to her If he knew her address
Eg: She said, “If I had enough money, I would buy a new bicycle.”
 She said (that) if she had enough money, she would buy a new bicycle.
Eg: The teacher said, “If John had studied harder, he wouldn’t have failed his
exam.”
 The teacher said (that) if John had studied harder, he wouldn’t have failed his
exam.

Tuy nhiên nếu lời nói trực tiếp là câu điều hiện loại 1 thì được chuyển sang
loại 2 ở lời nói gián tiếp
Eg: The advertisement said; “If you answer the questions
correctly, you may win one million dollar”
 The advertisement said that I might win one million
dollar If I answered the questions correctly.

- Không thay đổi thì của:
Could, would, might, should
Ought, had better, need

trong câu nói gián tiếp

Nhưng must -> had to/ must
Eg: She said; “I could do the homework  She said the she
could do the homework
- Động từ trong câu nói trực tiếp có thời gian xác định:
Eg: He said, “I was born in 1980”

 he said that he was born in 1980.

III. Các dạng câu gián tiếp
1. Câu trần thuật trong lời nói gián tiếp: (Statements in reported speech)
S + said (to + O) + that S + V……
 S + told + O + that S + V….
Eg: ‘We will have a test tomorrow’, My teacher said.
-> My teacher said (that) they would have a test the next
day.

*Note: Có thể sử dụng một số động từ dẫn sau: thought, announced, explained,
complained, believed…
2. Câu hỏi trong lời nói gián tiếp (Questions in reported speech)
a. Yes/ no questions:
- Dùng các động từ giới thiêụ ask, inquire, wonder, and want to know
- Dùng if hoặc whether ngay sau từ giới thiệu
- Đổi trật tự câu hỏi thành câu trần thuật
- Đổi đại từ, tính từ sở hữu, thì của động từ, trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi trốn
S + asked / said “ Aux + S + ……….. ? ”=> S + asked + ( O ) + if /
whether + s + v
Eg:

Tuan asked Ba “Are you fond of watching television?”
=> Tuan asked Ba if/whether he was fond of watching television

b. Wh-questions:

3. Cõu mnh lnh trong li núi giỏn tip (Imperative in reported speech)
Khi đổi câu mệnh lệnh trực tiếp thành câu mệnh lệnh
gián tiếp, cần lu ý:
+ Động từ tờng thuật là: ordered, commanded (ra lệnh),
requested, asked (yêu cầu), told (bảo làm )
+ Tân ngữ trực tiếp chỉ ngời nhận mệnh lệnh đợc nêu lên.
+ Hình thức mệnh lệnh của động từ trong câu mệnh lệnh
trực tiếp đổi thành động từ nguyên thể.

Eg: Please wait for a minute. The man asked me
The man asked me to wait for a minute.
Would you mind opening the door she asked me.
She asked me to open the door.

- Khi lời nói gián tiếp là lời đề nghị, mệnh lệnh, ý định, lời
hứa, lời yêu cầu,...động từ tờng thuật cùng với động từ nguyên
mẫu theo sau thờng dùng để truyền tải nội dung lời nói trên.
- Động từ tờng thuật + tân ngữ + động từ nguyên mẫu
(to-infinitive)
*Động từ tờng thuật: ask, advise, command, invite, order, recommend,

encourage, urge, warn, want, beg, persuade, remind , instruct
Ex: He said, Would you like to go --> He invited me to go out for a drink.

5. Reported speech with gerund: (câu gián tiếp với danh động từ)
- Khi lời nói gián tiếp là lời đề nghị, chúc mừng, cảm ơn, xin lỗi ….động từ tường
thuật cùng với danh động từ theo sau nó thường dùng để truyền tải nội dung lời nói
trên.

càng tiến bộ,lôi cuốn vào bài một cách hứng thú và ít gặp khó khăn.
- Theo tôi để có những tiết dạy tốt hơn , hiệu quả hơn , đòi hỏi người thầy phải
có năng lực về chuyên môn , đi đúng mục đích của bài giảng .
- Với đề tài này , bản thân tôi muốn trình bày những gì đã đúc kết đựơc qua các
tài liệu kham khảo và vốn kiến thức của cá nhân , tôi nghĩ nó không thể tránh
khỏi những thiếu sót . Bản thân còn phải học hỏi đồng nghiệp và phấn đấu nhiều
