Theme: THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD
Unit 16 – Reading
Time/ Duration: 45 minutes
I.

Objectives:

1.

Education objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
-

Develop such reading micro-skills as scanning for specific ideas, skimming for general
information, and guessing meaning in context.
Use the information they have read to discuss the topic.

2.
Knowledge objectives: Reading to find the sentences that show facts and the ones that
describe opinions.

Method: Integrated, mainly communicative.

Teaching aid: mini-boards, textbook.

Procedures:

Warm-up: (5 minutes)
Mini-game: WORD HUNTING
- Teacher divides the class into 2 groups.
- Group A has to write down any words
consisting of the letters N, E, W.
- Group 2 has to find any words
consisting of the letters R, D, O.
- Teacher asks students to write down the
answers on the blackboard.
- The group with more correct words
wins the game.
Question: Now, one more question, who can
use the letter N, E, W, R, D and O to make a
meaning word? There are 3 marks for this
question
Expected answer : WONDER
- Introduce the new lesson.
