INTRODUCTION
1. The urgency of the topic
The role of teachers in modern society is defined as both an educator, a socialcultural activist, a service provider, a researcher and a learner, so they must
constantly broadcast develop your professional capacity by studying practical
improvement effects. This fact requires that universities of pedagogy need to have
changes in the training process, focusing on developing professional capacities for
future teachers, especially self-learning and self-learning capabilities. study to
improve yourself.
Although there are clear orientations, scientific research activities of students
of pedagogic universities have not been organized regularly, mainly concentrated in
annual and periodical movements; not yet implemented in all subjects; not yet created
a strong research motivation to encourage more students to participate, thus not
promoting the process of developing the capacity of educational science research
effectively.
For the above reasons, choosing the topic “Developing capacity for scientific
research in education of pedagogical university students” is urgent and helpful.
2. Purpose of the study
On the basis of studying the theory and situation of developing scientific
research capacity, the thesis proposes measures to develop research capacity for
pedagogical students to improve the effectiveness of research activities in

particular and quality.

Currently, universities of education have focused on the development of

building learning environment towards encouraging demand and creating
motivation for students; apply teaching strategies in the direction of research;

activities for students, the process of developing research capacity for education

THEORETICAL BACKGROUND OF DEVELOPING CAPACITY FOR
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN EDUCATION OF PEDAGOGICAL
UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
1.1. Overview of studies related to the topic
1.1.1. Studies on students' scientific research capacity
Studies in the world and Vietnam refer to the scientific research capacity of
students quite diverse, focusing on confirming the meaning and role of research
capacity for individuals and for social development. Typically, studies address the
role and composition of research capacity of Coate, K., Barnett, R., & amp; Williams,
G., Edgar, F., & amp; Geare, A., Eraut, M., Hameda Suwaed, Sandra Jones. The
studies refer to the components, motivations, and capacity structure of Le Thi Thanh
Chung, Hoang Thi Nhi Ha, Tran Ngoc Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Van Bac, Nguyen Thi
Thu Hong, Nguyen Vinh Khuong. However, no research has mentioned the criteria
and indicators for assessing capacity, measures to influence the development of
research capacity in specific subjects.
1.1.2. Studies on developing capacity for scientific research in education of
pedagogical university students
Emphasizing the constituent components of knowledge, skills and attitudes, the
researches all said that in order to develop research capacity, it is necessary to master
scientific knowledge, flexibly apply skills and techniques into practical situations.
In the US, China, and Europe, the development of research capacity is always
associated with improving the effectiveness of practical applications, mentioned in
the studies of Eraut, M., Steve Garrett, Coate, K. Barnett, R. & Williams, G., Brew,
A. & Boud, D.
In Vietnam, a number of studies mention the structure and content of scientific

research capacity of students, all assessing competence based on 3 criteria of
knowledge, skills and attitudes, such as research of author Nguyen Cong Khanh, Nhu
Thi Viet Hoa, Le Thi Minh Loan, Dao Thi Oanh. Although many authors have
mentioned the content, role and measures to develop the capacity of scientific
research and education, these studies do not yet specify the process and the way to
implement the development process. research force for students in the process of
teaching at university.

1.2. Theoretical issues on capacity for scientific research in education of
pedagogical university students
1.2.1. Capacity for scientific research in education
Educational research capacity is a combination of knowledge, skills, attitudes
that are formed and trained to allow individuals to successfully implement the
organization process and conduct research on educational practices, among specific
conditions.
On the basis of studying the levels of scientific and educational research
capacity, with the viewpoint of capacity development approach, it is confirmed
that the study of educational science is the process of establishing and improving
the capacity from not to yet From incomplete to perfect, the thesis uses 4 levels
to classify capacity including weak capacity, average capacity, good capacity,
good capacity.
1.2.2. Research and educational capacity of Teachers University students
The research and educational capacity of pedagogical university students is a
combination of knowledge, skills, attitudes of pedagogical students, formed and
trained in the training process at the pedagogical university. , allowing students to

1.3.1. Concept of developing capacity for scientific research in education of
pedagogical university students
Developing research and educational capacity for pedagogical university
students is the process of organizing training to create favorable conditions to form
and improve the system of knowledge, skills and research attitudes. Educational
science for students, helping students successfully implement the organization
process, conducting research on educational practices, under specific conditions.

Survey of 60 lecturers and 600 students, in the area of 03 Northern
pedagogical universities in the North are redundant universities in Hanoi, Hanoi
Pedagogical University 2, Thai Nguyen Pedagogical University. Specifically, the
survey in each school is 20 lecturers and 200 3rd year students in different
departments.
We conduct research through academic records, essays, scientific research
topics of students and use the scale according to the evaluation criteria 4 levels of
competence: Very good capacity, Good capacity, Average capacity and weak
capacity; scale for each capacity is as follows:
The result is below 1.75 points: weak capacity
Results reach from 1.75 to 2.50 points: average capacity
Results from 2.50 to 3.25 points: good capacity
Results reach from 3.25 to 4.00 points: very good capacity

On the basis of surveying the real situation of awareness of the role and
necessity of research and education capacity, we explore the current level of
research capacity in education for students of pedagogical universities. The results
showed that lecturers and students rated the average level of scientific research
capacity is not high, ranging from 1.02 to 3.25, corresponding to the level of
inability to function. good force. Compare the average score of students of the three
universities of Ha Noi Pedagogical University, Ha Noi 2 Pedagogical University
and the Thai Nguyen Pedagogical University, the thesis also found a difference in
the level of competency part. The average score of the three schools' capacity was
assessed by the faculty to be 2.00, 1.99 and 1.97 respectively; assessed by students
as 2.44, 2.38 and 2.40; corresponds to the average capacity level. The evaluation
results also show that students often assess their GPA higher than the teacher's
assessment

On the basis of surveying the status of teachers 'and students' awareness of
their roles, goals and contents of developing scientific and educational research
capabilities, we surveyed development paths. The results show that the path of
development through module teaching The method of educational science research
is used most often, the average score of the instructor is 4.89 compared to that of the
student of 4.07; the least used path is to participate in research projects with
teachers, with the average score of teachers and students being 1.08 and 1.11
The thesis uses observation methods, talking with lecturers and students, and
realizing that there are many different paths that have been used in the teaching
process in order to develop research and educational capacity but students who are
not actively involved or reluctant to participate should not be effective. When
observing the lessons, we found that the lecturers used pathways such as self-study,
essays, seminars, but students were very passive and waiting for the knowledge
provided so the lesson objectives were not finish.
2.3.6. Actual status of the effectiveness of measures to develop research and
educational capacity for pedagogical university students
2.4. Survey results of the real situation of developing capacity for
scientific research in education of pedagogical university students through
teaching the module Scientific research method in education.
2.4.1. Real situation of implementing the ways of teaching the module
Scientific research method in education.
On the basis of studying the roles, goals and contents of the module teaching
method of research on educational science for students, we conduct a survey of the
situation of using the method of teaching learning modules to develop Research
capacity for educational science for students.
The results show that there are similarities in the evaluation of teachers and
students about the use and effectiveness of teaching methods in the direction of

research. Lecturers evaluate the level of using teaching methods in the direction of
research at regular levels and bring about efficiency at the normal level, especially
the method of discussion and presentation. At the same time, teachers and students

affirmed that the method of exploring and experimenting is rarely used and less
effective in developing research capacity for students due to the discovery and
experience process required. teaching must have enough support, time and
especially the positive of students.

Based on the study of products as essays, seminars and research protocols, the
dissertation conducts interviews and observes the process of implementing students'
learning tasks to comprehensively and objectively evaluate competencies
implementation of educational science research outline.
2.5. Current situation of factors affecting the development of educational
science research capacity for pedagogical university students
Conclusion of chapter 2
The research and educational capacity of students is assessed at the average
level, there is a difference in average score between students of 3 Hanoi
Pedagogical Universities, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 and Thai Nguyen
Pedagogical University
Awareness of teachers and students of pedagogical universities on the role,
nature, goals and content of the capacity of research and educational science for the
training process as well as the learning outcomes of students is correct, but the
students' awareness is incomplete.
The pathways for developing scientific and educational research capacity are
evaluated by students as diverse but have not been used regularly and have not been
highly effective. Teaching strategies for developing educational science research
capacity have been widely used as project teaching, discussion, but have not been
widely implemented in the modules. Therefore the path of development needs to be
expanded and applied more often in the process of teaching at university.
Developing the capacity of scientific and educational research through

module teaching the method of researching educational science is an effective and
convenient pathway in the implementation process. The objectives and development
contents are regularly implemented in the module; the feedback from students is
adjusted promptly; component capabilities are trained through research products;
