Technology
Workflow

Radiographer was able to quickly position the trauma patient on the table thanks to Default Patient
Positioning on gantry display.
With one stop scanning mode, prescanning was performed in only five touches including: patient and
protocol selection.
Imaging Performance
The Optima* CT660’s high helical pitch of 1.531 enabled coverage from head to pelvis
(815 mm) in 6.7 sec with 40 mm beam width at 0.5sec rotation speed.
The patient was scanned at a low dose of 747 mGy.cm (10.3 mSv*1) thanks to ASiR* while maintaining a
high image performance with 0.625 mm slice thickness.

Conclusion

With its imaging capabilities, the Optima* CT660 allowed the radiologist conduct a head-to-pelvis scan within a
few seconds with low dose.
More important the CT-scan offered a high diagnostic image quality, which enabled in this case detection of a
thin fracture near the metallic hip prosthesis.
