D- WRITING
I.

OBJECTIVE
By the ends of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Know more some information of the Cat Ba national park.
- Vocabulary: learn pronunciation and understand the new words: tropical,
coastal, landscape, resource,…
2. Skills:
– Ss can write a paragraph to describe a national park based on given
information.
3. Attitude and competencies:
- Attitude: Be aware of the Cat Ba national park and feel interested in
writing about the Cat Ba national park.

PREPARATION
- Teacher: Handouts, textbook, extra-board
- Student: Textbook, notebook, A0 sizes poster

- Ss may have difficulty with writing descriptive essays, so T ready to

III. Writing(12’)
- T divides the class into small groups
and assigns each group to write about
aspect of Cat Ba National Park.
-T hands each group an A0 sized paper
sheet.

Cat Ba National park is located in
Cat Ba Island Hai Phong. It is 120
km from Hanoi and 20 km east of
Hai Phong city centre. It is 15,200
square hectares in total.
The park is characterised by
beautiful tropical forests and coastal
waters. It is famous for magnificent
landscapes with white sand beaches
and abundant
natural resources.
Many kinds of rare and precious
animals and plants live in Cat Ba
National park. It is home to 300
species of fish, 40 species of
animals, 150 species of birds and
620 kinds of plants.
Cat Ba National Park is also a
historic site. Archeologists found
6000 years old stone tools and even
human bones. So the park is not only
a tourist attraction but also a good
place for historians and
archeologists to study the past.
