* Set the scene: In Nam s neighborhood,
there is a new shopping mall. Read
information about it then find the
convenience of the mall.

3. While reading (15 minutes)
- Ask Ss to look at the exercise 1 in page 68
a) The mall is open six days a week.
b) There are more than 50 stores in the mall.

c) Everyone in the neighborhood is pleased
about the new mall.
d) It will be more comfortable to shop in the
mall than in the present shopping area.
e) Some of the stores on Tran Phu Street may
have to close.
- Ask Ss to scan the text then stick T or F for
each sentence.
- Have some Ss to read the sentences and
give their ideas.
- Remark and give correct answers.

- Scan the information.
- Work individually.
- Some Ss read their answers.

a) It is very different from the present
shopping area. All the shops are under the
roof. That will be very convenient,
especially during the hot and humid summer
months. Customers will shop in comfort and
wont notice the weather
b) In the shopping mall, there are 50 air
conditioned specially stores, 4 movie
theaters and 10 restaurants there is also a
childrens play area.
c) They think the new shopping mall will
take their business.
d) The stores in the mall will offer a wider
selection of products. Some kinds of goods

at cheaper prices.
4. Post reading (8 minutes)
* Discussion:
- Give situation.
Do you want to have a new mall in your
neighborhood? If there is one, what will
happen to the residents?
- Call some representative of each group to
tell their ideas.
- Discuss in 4 groups.
- Tell the ideas.
5. Homework (3 minutes)
Learn by heart all the new words and structure.
Do exercises in workbook.

- Ask Ss to look at the community notice in
Ss’ books (p. 68).
- Call some Ss to read the notice loudly.
- Have Ss read it again then answer some
questions to check their understanding.

- Now you are going to use the similar
format to write a notice about the English
Speaking contest.
- Get Ss to write the notice individually.
- Monitor and help then write.
- Ask Ss to share with their partners.
- Check some notice and correct them.
- Give the feedback.
II. Write
- Read the paragraph.
- Answer the questions.
