Titanic is a romantic film, which was directed by James Cameron. However, it’s
also about a disaster. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The film is about the sinking of the ship Titanic on its first voyage. The main
characters are Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater. Jack saves Rose from killing
herself during the journey on board the ship. Although they are from different
social classes, and Rose is already engaged, they fall in love. The film has a sad
ending: the Titanic sinks and more than a thousand people die in the disaster,
including Jack.

Critics say it is a must-see. I agree because the story is moving and the acting is
excellent. The special effects, visuals and music are also incredible.

Many people still believe that natural resources will never be used up. Actually, the
world’s energy resources are limited. Nobody knows exactly how much fuel is left.
However, we also should use them economically and try to find out alternative
sources of power. According to Professor Marvin Burnharm of the New England
Institude of Technology, we have to start conserving coal, oil and gas before it is
too late; and nuclear power is the only alternative.

VIII.Read the passage below and answer the questions:

We can develop alternative sources of energy, and unless we try we’ll never
succeed. Instead of burning fossil fuels we should be concentrating on more
economic uses of electricity, because electricity can be produced from any sources
of energy.

If we didn’t waste so much energy, our resources would last longer. We can
save more energy by conservation than we can produce for the same money.
Unless we do research on solar energy, wind power, tidal power, hydroelectric

plants… our fossil fuels will run out and we’ll all freeze or starve to dealth.

Many countries are spending much more time and money on research
because the energy from the sun, the waves and the winds last forever. We really
won’t survive unless we start working on cleaner and safer sources of energy.
1.. Can electricity be produced from any sources of energy?

Ä ……….
2.. What would happen if we didn’t waste so much energy?
