<b>UNIT 5: MY COLOURS</b>
<b>Lesson 1</b>
<b>I. Objectives</b>
- By the end of this unit, pupils can identify basic shapes, identify colours..
- Pupils can recognize English sounds and spoken words.
- Pupil can develop fine motor control.
<b>II. Procedures</b>
<b>*Warm up: Review school things.</b>
<b>A. Presentation</b>
<i><b>1. Teaching vocabulary</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Teacher teaches vocabulary: circle, rectangle, square, triangle, blue, green, </b>
orange, red, yellow.
<b>Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words.</b>
<b>Step 3: Pupils copy down into their notebooks and repeat after the teacher. </b>
<b>Step 4: Ask a few pupils to read aloud.</b>
<b>B. Practice</b>
<i><b>2. Listen and say</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Tell pupils that they are going to learn the words for the shapes and the </b>
colours.
<b>Step 2: Play CD. Pause after each word so pupils can point to the shape or colour in </b>
their books.
<b>Step 3: Play CD again. Pupils repeat the word chorally and individually.</b>
<b>C. Production</b>
<b>Step 1: Say the words at random, e.g. circle, rectangle, square, triangle, blue, green, </b>
orange, red, yellow.
<b>Step 2: Check pupils are pointing to the correct shape and colour in their books.</b>
<b>Step 3: Play CD and pause after each word. Pupils listen and point to the object in </b>
their books.
<b>D. Application</b>
- Learn new words by heart.
<b>WEEK 15 – PERIOD 30</b>
<b>UNIT 5: MY COLOURS</b>
<b>Lesson 2</b>
<b>I. Objectives</b>
- By the end of this unit, pupils can recognize shapes.
- Pupils can recognize colours.
- Pupil can develop fine motor control.
<b>II. Procedures</b>
<b>*Warm up: Review the name of the colours.</b>
<b>A. Presentation</b>
<i><b>1. Teaching structure</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Teacher teaches structure: It’s + colour.</b>
<b>Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the structure.</b>
<b>Step 3: Pupils copy down into their notebooks and repeat after the teacher. </b>
<b>Step 4: Ask a few pupils to read aloud.</b>
<b>B. Practice</b>
<i><b>2. Listen and say</b></i>
<b>Step 3: Play CD again. Pupils repeat the phrases chorally and individually.</b>
<b>C. Production</b>
<i><b>3. Say and do</b></i>
<b>Step 1: Hold up the flashcard of the blue triangle. Say It’s blue. It’s a… </b>
<b>Step 2: Repeat with the flashcards of the red square, green rectangle, and yellow </b>
<b>Step 3: Repeat with the other flashcards.</b>
<b>D. Application</b>
- Learn structure by heart.
