<b>LESSON 1: LISTEN AND READ</b>
<b>I. OBJECTIVES:</b>
<b>1. Aims: - At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:</b>
+ Understand the dialogue between Nam and Na and know some
places in their neighborhood.
+ Know how to use present perfect tense.
<b>2. Knowledge :</b>
<i><b>+ Vocabulary: neighborhood (n), area (n), close by (adv), (to)</b></i>
serve, pancake (n), tasty = delicious (adj).
<i><b>+ Grammar: Present perfect tense.</b></i>
<b>3. Skill s : Listening, reading, speaking and writing</b>
<b>II. PREPARATION:</b>
<b>1. Teacher: Lesson plan, posters, worksheets, pictures, projector,</b>
tape.
<b>2. Students: </b>
+ Names of places around their house.
+ Names of places in the pictures on page 63
+ Vocabulary in the dialogue on page 63-64: neighborhood (n),
area (n), close by (adv), (to) serve, pancake (n), tasty = delicious (adj).
+ Present perfect tense.
<b>III. PROCEDURES:</b>
<b>1. Warm-up: (5’) </b>
<i><b>* Getting started: Matching</b></i>
T: + asks Ss to tell names of places around their house.
+ gives out the pictures on page 63 and asks Ss to match the names of
places with the pictures.
Ss: share their ideas in pairs and stand up to say aloud their answer.
T: gives feedback.

- Elicit the words from the Ss and says
them out.
- Write, check and instruct Ss to read.

vocabulary and asks Ss to correct.

- Introduce the dialogue between Nam and
Na then play the tape twice for Ss to listen.
- Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs
and then invites some pairs to practice the

<b>II. WHILE-STAGE: (7’)</b>
<i><b>* Gap-fill (Part 2 – page 64)</b></i>
- Give out the poster with the statements
and runs through the information.
- Ask Ss to read the dialogue again to fill in
the missing information in groups.
- Ask Ss to exchange their groups’ work.
- Choose one work, gets comments and
checks with the Ss.

<b>III. POST-STAGE: (15’)</b>
<i><b>1. Grammar: Present perfect tense</b></i>
- Ask Ss to read the dialogue again and
give out the model sentences:
<i>+ We have been here since last week.</i>
- Try to call out the words.
- Repeat chorally- individuall, give the
meaning, stress of words.
- Listen and repeat, remember then go
to the board to rewrite the words in
the correct cicles.
- Pay attention and listen to the tape.
- Practice the dialogue in pairs, then
play the roles with the dialogue
- Correct themselves.
- Read through the statements.
- Read it, share their ideas in groups
and write their answers on the
worksheets
- Exchange the worksheet with an
other group.
- Give their answers, comment on their
friends’ work and correct them with

- Learn by heart vocabulary and present perfect tense.
- Write the dialogue in practice writing notebook.
- Do exercise 1, 2, 5 on page 44, 46 (workbook).
