<b>I. OBJECTIVES:</b>
<b>1. Aims: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:</b>
- Revise the simple past, simple present, present continuous tense and
practise further in “Enough”.
<b>2. Knowlege:</b>
<i><b>* Grammar: - Revise the simple past, simple present, present continuous</b></i>
tense and practise further in Enough.
<b>3. Skills: Writing, reading and Speaking.</b>
<b>II. PREPARATION: </b>
<b>1. Teacher: Lesson plan, Textbook, Teacher’s book</b>
<b>2. Students: English book 8, notebook.</b>
<b>III. PROCEDURES:</b>
<i><b>1. Warmer: (8’) Describe the picture (Picture on P. 17).</b></i>
<i><b>1. How many people are there in the picture?</b></i>
<i><b>2. What does she/he look like?</b></i>
<i><b>3. What is she/ he like?</b></i>
<i><b>4. What is she/he wearing?</b></i>
<i>(T makes the model first and helps Ss revise the present continuous, the</i>
<i><b>groups of four)</b></i>

<b>I. Present simple and past simple </b>
<i><b>tense: Gap filling</b></i>
<b>1. Completing the paragraphs: (12’)</b>
- Asks Ss to retell the structure and the
use of simple present and simple past
tense.
- Asks them to give some examples
- Instructs them to complete the exercise
and asks Ss to work in groups.
- Gets feedback and helps Ss to correct.
<b>2. Completing the dialogue: (10’)</b>
- Checks the verbs in the box and
explains the words: planet, Mars,
Mercury, the Earth.
- Give and compare two tenses, focus on
the verb form.
- Make examples if possible.
- Find out the context in which the tense
is used.
- Speak out their answers and explain to
the class, then correct themselves.
<b>*) Answer key:</b>

<i>introduced</i>
- Elicits the situation in the dialogue and
explains more about the use of simple
present.
- Asks them to complete it in groups.
- Gets feedback & asks the whole to
check.
- Notices Ss with: Using the simple
present tense to talk about the general
truth.
<b>II. (Not) adjective + enough: (10’)</b>
- Gives the example and asks Ss to
combine it, using Enough.
- Elicits the use and structure from Ss
first and asks Ss to compare : Enough &
Enough for someone + to-inf.
- Asks Ss to combine above sentences
<i><b>individually share it in pairs.</b></i>
- Gets feedback.
- Elicits the checking from the class.
- Explains about the way to use Enough
with adjectives and nouns
<i>S+ tobe + adj + enough + (for </i>
<i>someone) + to-inf. + ...</i>
- Read through the dialogue and give
their ideas.
- Share the ideas in groups.
- Write their answers and correct them

- Combine the pair of sentences
individually.

ways and the steps to do with Enough.
- Define each component, write their own
sentences.
- Write their answers on the board.
- Check it with teacher, give their ideas
with the complete sentences
- Copy the way to use Enough with
adjectives and nouns.

- Asks the Ss to revise the structure of the present continuous, the simple
past and compare it with simple present tense.
- Do language focus 4 on page 17 at home.
