I. Bare - Infinitive( Động từ nguyên mẫu khơng có TO )
- Đứng sau các trợ động từ tình thái: can, could, may, might…..


- Sau các động từ Let, Make, See, Hear, feel, watch, notice (V1)→S + V1 + O + V-bare
Don’t let the children stay up late


V1 O V2


- Đứng sau cụm từ: Had better, would rather, hoặc sau Why, Why not…
You had better tell him the truth.


Chú ý: + Những động từ này (trừ Let) khi đợc dùng ở thể bị động thì phải đợc theo sau bởi động từ nguyên
mẫu có To


He was made to repeat the whole story.


+ Let không thờng đợc dùng ở thể bị động mà thờng chuyển sang allow:
S + be + allowed + to V


II. To - Infinitive & Gerund/ Động từ nguyên mẫu có to và danh động từ


To - infinitive Gerund


- Chđ ng÷ :


To swim in the river is dangerous.


Tuy nhiên trong tiếng Anh hiện đại ngời ta thờng
dùng cấu trúc sử dụng chủ ngữ giả với It hơn, do
vậy, To V sẽ ít đợc dùng làm chủ ngữ (chỉ khi nói
về mục đích của hành động):



It is dangerous to swim in the river.


- Chñ ng÷:


Swimming is my favorite sport


- Bổ ngữ cho chủ ngữ (đứng sau TO BE)


What I like is to swim in the sea. -My favorite sport is swimmingBổ ngữ
- Tân ngữ cho các động từ (S + V + to V )


He managed to put the fire out.
V to V


- Tân ngữ cho các động từ (S + V + V-ing)
I enjoy swimming.


- Tân ngữ của tính tõ: …be + Adj + to V
It’s boring to do the same thing everyday.
Adj to V


- Sau tÊt cả các giới từ:


I am interested in collecting stamps.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon.
- To V đợc dùng sau TOO, ENOUGH


S + be (not) + too + adj (for smb) + To V
S + be (not) + adj + enough(for smb) + To V



This suitcase is too heavy (fo me) to lift.


- Bị động của động từ nguyên mẫu
S + V + to be + Vpp


She hoped to be invited to his party
S V to be Vpp


- Bổ ngữ của tân ngữ:
S + V + O + V-ing


Catch, discover, dislike, feel, find, hear,
imagine, involve, keep, mind, notice, prevent,
remember, risk, see, spend, stop, watch….
Nobody can stop him doing what he wants to do.

3. remember + to -v: nhớ phải làm gì remember +v -ing:nhớ đã làm gì
4. regret+ to-v: tiếc vì phải làm gì regret + v-ing:tiếc là đã làm gì


5. mean + to V: có ý định làm gì mean + V-ing: kết quả là, có nghĩa là
