GRAMMAR
1. Các giới từ (prepositions):
a) Đi với danh từ chỉ nơi chốn:
to; on; at; in; in to; between; opposite; next to; from ... to.
b) Đi với danh từ chỉ thời gian: at; in; on; from ... to; between; until; before; after.
c) Đi với danh từ chỉ phương tiện giao thông: by; on
Ex: by car; by train; on foot.
2. Các dạng câu:
a) Câu cảm thán (an exclamatory sentence):
Ex: * Những lời phàn nàn (complaints):
- What an expensive dress!
- What a wet day!
* Những lời khen ngợi (compliment):
- What a great party!
- What a bright room!
b) Câu hỏi:
* Wh - questions:
Ex: - Where are you going? - I am going to the market.
- Why don't you go to school? - Because we have a vacation.
- Where does she work? - She works at a supermarket.
* Yes - No questions:
Ex: - Are you a student? - Yes, I am.
- Does she have English on Monday? - No, she doesn't.
* Or questions:
Ex: - Do you like soccer or volleyball? - I like soccer.
- Is he a mechanic or a driver? - He is a mechanic.
* Questions with How / How old / How many / How much / How far / How often ... ?
c) Câu đề nghị (suggestions):
Ex: - Let's go swimming.


Let's + V (infinitive) ...
- Why don't you play soccer?
Why don't you + V (infinitive) ...?
- Would you like to see a movie?
Would you like + to + V (infinitive) ...?
- Should we play volleyball?
Should we + V (infinitive) ...?
- What about watching TV?
What about + V-ing ...?
d) Câu đáp lại lời đề nghị:
* Sự tán thành (agreement):
- Good idea.
- Great!
* Không tán thành (disagreement):
- I'm sorry, I can't.
e) Lời mời (invitation):
Ex: - Would you like to come to my house for lunch?
→ - Would you like to + V (infinitive)...?
f) Lời chấp nhận lịch sự (polite acceptance):
- OK.

- I'd love to.
- Thanks for inviting me.
g) Lời từ chối lịch sự (polite refusal):
- I'm sorry, I can't. Thanks any way.
- I would love to but ...
h) Lời hướng dẫn (directions):
Ex: - Excuseme. Could you show me the way to the supermarket, please?
(hỏi thăm đường đi)
- OK. Go straight ahead. Take the first street on the right. The supermarket is in

front of you. (chỉ đường)
- Could you tell me how to get the souvenir shop?
3. Thể so sánh:
a) So sánh hơn (comparative):
* Tính từ ngắn:
Ex: - She is thinner than me. (I am)
- This box is bigger than that one. (box)
* Tính từ dài:
Ex: - This student is more intelligent than that one. (student)
* Tính từ đặc biệt:
- good → better : tốt hơn
- bad → worse : xấu hơn, kém hơn
- far → farther : xa hơn
- many / much → more: nhiều hơn
- little → less : nhỏ hơn, ít hơn, kém hơn
b) So sánh nhất (superlative):
* Tính từ ngắn:
Ex: - She is the tallest girl in my class.
* Tính từ dài:
Ex: - This is the most beautiful village in the country.
* Tính từ đặc biệt:
- good / well → the best : tốt nhất, khoẻ nhất
- many / much → the most : nhiều nhất
- little → the least : nhỏ nhất, ít nhất
- bad → the worst : xấu nhất, kém nhất
- far → the farthest / the furthest : xa nhất
4. Các thì (tenses):
a) Thì hiện tại đơn (simple present tense):
* Khẳng định (positive form)
Ex: - I go to school every morning.

- She gets up at 6 o'clock. Then she has breakfast at 6.30 and goes to school at 6.40.
* Phuû ñònh (negative form):
Ex: - She isn't at home.
- Lan doesn't like milk.
* Nghi vấn (interrogative form)
- Is she at home?
- Does Lan like milk?

- Can you swim?
b) Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (present progressive tense):
* Khẳng định:
Ex: - We are going to the zoo at the moment.
* Phủ định:
Ex: - We are not going to the zoo at the moment.
* Nghi vấn:
Ex: - Are they singing now?
c) Thì tương lai đơn (simple future tense):
* Khẳng định:
Ex: - I will (shall) do a test tomorrow. She will eat first. Then she will take a
shower.
* Phủ định:
Ex: - I will not do a test tomorrow.

* Nghi vấn:
Ex: - Will they be late for school?
d) Thì tương lai theo dự định:
Có thể dùng theo hai cách:

♦ Dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn để nói về sự việc trong tương lai đã được dự tính trước:
Ex: - He is coming tonight.
♦ Dùng thì tương lai dự định:
* Khẳng định:
Ex: - My father is going to go to Paris this evening.
* Phủ định:
Ex: - Tom and Peter are not going to watch TV tonight.
* Nghi vấn:
Ex: - Are you going to play soccer tomorrow afternoon?
