<b>UNIT 5: Ee - PART 1, 2, 3</b>


<b>I. Objective: </b>


<b>1. Language focus:</b>


- By the end of the lesson Ee recognize and pronounce the letter Ee and its sound
correctly.


- Understand, recognize and say the three Ee words.
- Write the letter Ee.


- Vocabulary: egg, elf, elephant.
<i>- Sight words: hello</i>


<b>2. Skill: </b>


- Listening, speaking, reading, writing.
<b>3. Attitude:</b>


- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.
<b>II. Teaching aids: </b>


- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware.
<b>III. Method:</b>


- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.
- Some techniques can be used: music chairs.

<b>2. Warm up (5’) </b>


<i><b>Activity: Matching game</b></i>


- Make two columns on the board, A and B


- Write letters a, b, c, and d in column A and all, apple, ragon, and arrot
- Ask Ss to match the letters in column A with column B and make four words
- Ask Ss to write the words in their notebooks


- Choose individual students to come to the board, draw lines and say the words3.

- T use a card with letter <i>Ee</i> or write on the
board the letter <i>Ee</i> to introduce to the Ss the
new lesson.


- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and
the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter

<i>Ee/i:/</i>. The letter <i>Ee</i> makes the /e/ sound.
- Ss listen and repeat.


- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check
student’s pronunciation and its sound.


- Ss work in group.
- Ss work individually.


- Ss look the cards and repeat.


- T use gestures (hand actions ) to help
students to understand the meanings of the
three words.


- Ss check the meaning and repeat.


- T check student’s understanding T says the


words,all ss do actions and vice versa


- T call some Ss to say the words out loud and
correct their mistakes.


- Ss remember the cards.

- T point to and elicit the sound of the letter.
- T play the CD.


- T ask Ss to listen, repeat and then colour the
letter


<i><b>Activity 2: Listen and point. Match. (5’)</b></i>


- T asks students look at the book and listen to
the words: egg, elf, elephant


- T ask Ss to listen and repeat the words.
- T put up the phonics cards on the board.
- T point to the card and say: <i>Hello, egg.</i>


- T ask the students come to the board.
- Ss point to the card and say: <i>Hello, egg.</i>


- T monitors and give feedback.


<i><b>Activity: Pass the phonics card Game </b><b>(5’)</b></i>



- T use the cards of Ee, egg, elf, elephant
- T devides Ss in to 2 teams and give the first
students of each team a phonics card and say
“Go”


The students say the corresponding words and
pass the phonics card over their head to the
students behind them. Next, those students
repeat the word and pass the phonics card
between their legs to the students behind them
- Continue to pass the phonics card over their
heads and between their legs to the last


students


- T monitors and correct.


<i><b>Activity 3. Chant and show (7’) </b></i>


- T put up the lyrics of the chant on the board.

Without music, use the phonics cards and step
students to sing the chant with egg. Do the
same with elf and elephant.


<i><b>Activity: Writing in the air</b></i>


- Show the letter Ee again, have students write
the Ee in air with their fingers.
