Lesson 1: part 1-2-3
<b>I. Objectives: </b>
After the lesson, students are able to:
<b>- Asking questions about dates. Respond to the questions.</b>
- Develop: Speaking, listening skills.
- Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves.
- Studious and obedient students and love their friends.
<b>II. Language contents:</b>
<b>- Vocabulary: date, ordinal numbers</b>
<b>- Sentence patterns: What is the date today? - It’s ...</b>
<b>III. Teaching aids:</b>
<i>1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.</i>
<i>2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.</i>
<b>IV. Procedures</b>
<i>1. Class organization:</i>- Greeting
- Checking for the students' attendance.
<i>2. Oral test: Have pupils asking and answering about their weekly</i>
activities.
<i>3. New lesson:</i>
<i><b>Teacher’s activities</b></i> <i><b>Students’ activities</b></i>
<i>Warm up: Sing a song Happy birthday.</i>
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask Ss to open their books on P.22
- Ask: Who are they? Where are they?
- Have ss listen to the tape first.
- Teach the word “ date” and “the second of
October”
- Play tape again and ask Ss to repeat each line
of the dialogue.
- Divide the class into two groups to play roles.
- Have ss practice in pairs.
- Call some pairs to read aloud.
2. Point and say
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the
dates of the month.
- Present some new phrases.
<i>the first of October the fifth of October </i>
<i> the second….. the twenty-second ...</i>
- Sing aloud.
- Look and answer.
- Listen.
- Read the word and guess the
meaning.
- Listen and repeat.
- Read in groups.
- Read in pairs.
- Give out, the others listen and
give comment.
- Look and find:

- Call ss to read
- Have Ss work in pairs to practice.
- Do picture a as a model.
T: What is the date today ?
- Call some pairs to read in front of the class.
- Have Ss look at the pictures in N 3
- Ask Ss to listen and tick.
- Have ss listen again and check.
- Call on some students to report the answers to
the class.
- Check and correct.

- Ask Ss to do Ex in Part E (p.8/WB)
- Read aloud.
- Read before the class.
- Listen and prepare.
- Practise in pairs.
