( có thể Present continuous và Past Perfect hoặc Simple Future và Future Perfect )
Khi đổi ra indirect speech , ta chỉ thay đổi một yếu tố duy nhất đó là ngơi( Persons )
của Personal Pronuons , Possessive adjectives , Possessive Pronuons và Reflexive
Pronuons .

- Giữ nguyên động từ say hoặc đổi say to thành tell .
- Đổi dấu (, ) thành that và bỏ dấu ngoặc kép ( “ ” ) .

- Đổi đại từ chỉ ngôi ( personal pronun ) hoặc sở hữu tính từ ( possessive adjective )
cho hợp nghĩa .

- Đổi động từ trong ngoặc kép sang thì quá khứ , ( nếu động từ say ở thì q khứ )
theo cơng thức sau :

Nếu reporting verb ở simple past thì ta đổi 3 yếu tố là ngơi , thì của động từ và trạng
từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn .

1. Ngôi thứ nhất đổi ra ngôi thứ 3,(để cùng một ngôi với chủ từ trong mệnh đề chính )
Nh vậy ta có :

1 st personal ---> 3 rd personal
I ---> he , she
Me ---> him , her
My ---> his , her
Mine ---> his , hers

Myself ---> himself , hersself
We ---> they

Us ---> them
Our ---> their
Ours ---> theirs
Ourselves ---> themselves
2 . Thì của động từ

3 . Trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn ( adverb of time and of place ) .

Trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn và một số tiếng khác đợc đổi ra nh sau đây :
