II. Gerund (danh động tưø)



Là dạng động từ thêm “ing”, có chức năng vừa
là danh từ vừa là động từ.

a. Active:



Ta thường dùng “gerund” sau các động từ: keep
(tiếp tục), suggest (đề nghị), like, enjoy, love (thích),
dislike (khơng thích), risk (liều lĩnh), mind (phiền 
lòng), allow (cho phép), mention (đề cập đến)…
_ He enjoys going out for a walk every evening.
b. Passive:

_ The building continues being built.



Chú ý: sau giới từ ta dùng “gerund”
* Active:

_ Because of getting up late, he didn’t have breakfast.

* Passive:

_ In spite of being asked to do homework, he went out.
