Aims: 1.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Develop such listening micro-skills as listening for specific information and listening for general information. - Use the information they have listened to for other communicative tasks. 2.Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk,... - cassette, tape, textbook, lesson plan,... B. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Time Students’ activities I. Organization: - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson: - T calls on 2 sts to interview each other about 25th Sea Games. - T gives comments and marks III. New lesson: 1. Warm- up: - T asks sts to make a list of some sports they have known. . - T checks the sts’ result and leads to the new lesson. 2. Before you listen: * Work in pairs: - T asks Sts to discuss the questions on page 141 in pairs. - T calls on some Ss to give their answers and comments on them. - T asks sts to guess what they are going to listen about. * Lisen and repeat - T reads words for the first time. - T reads all the words twice again.. 1 min. - The monitor reports the number of students in his/her class to the teacher.. 4 mins - make a small conversation. A: Where were 25th Sea Games held? B: in Thai Lan …………………………………….... - listen to T 4 mins - make a list of the names of some sports: running, swimming, long jump, high jump,….. - listen carefully. 5 mins. While you listen: *Task 1: - T gets sts to read the statements and questions carefully and work out what information they need to concentrate on while listening. - T gets sts to read the options in each question carefully and underline the words that make them different. T checks with the whole class. - T gets sts to guess the answer to each question and then tells them they need to listen attentively to check if their guesses are confirmed. - T plays the tape recording once for sts to listen and do the task. - T has Ss compare their answers with a friend and correct themselves. - T plays the tape recording once more for sts to listen and check. - T calls on some Ss to read their answers aloud in front of the class. - T feedbacks and gives out the answers: 1. C 2. A 3. B 4. B 5.
