Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss are able: - To use conditional sentences (type 1, 2, and 3) and conditional sentences in reported speech properly. II. Materials: - Handout, guide book. III. Anticipated problems: Ss may confuse with skill tasks, so T should ready to assist them. IV. Procedure: Stage and time Procedure Interaction 13’ 1.Presentation Whole class a. Conditional sentences: - Review the structures and use of three types of the conditional sentences - Give Ss some examples. 1. Present real condition If + S + simple present, S + will (can, shall, may) + V-inf. Ex: If he tries much more, he will improve his English. 2. Present unreal condition If + S + simple past, S + would (could, should, might) + V-inf. Ex: If I had enough money now, I would buy this house. Ex: If I were you, I wouldn't do such a thing. 3. Past unreal condition If + S + had + PIII/ED, S + would + have + PIII/ED Ex: If he had studied harder for that test, he would have passed it. Ex: If she had caught the train, she would be here by now. b. Conditional in reported speech: - Remind the rules of changing the conditional sentences into reported speech Direct speech  indirect Type 1  type 2 Type 2  Type 2 Type 3  Type 3 - Give some examples to make clear. + He said, “If I have much money, I’ll travel around the world.”  He said if he had much money, he would travel around the world. + “If it rains, take the clothes in.”, her mother said to her.  Her mother told her to take the clothes if it rained. + He said, “If I had two wings, I’d fly everywhere.” He said (that) if he had two wings, he would fly everywhere. 30’ 2. Practice: (give handouts) Individual and - Ask Ss to do the exercises given in the handout individually and pair work then compare the answers with a friend. Whole class - Go around and give help. - Call on Ss to give the answers. - Ask other Ss to comment and give correct answers.
