Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Distinguish the clusters /sl /, / sm /, / sn /, / sw/. - Pronounce the words and dialogues containing these clusters correctly. - Use relative pronouns with prepositions appropriately. 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts - textbook, lesson plan B. Procedures Time Teacher’s activities Student’s activities 1 I. Pronunciation 8 * Pronouncing the two sounds mins - listen carefully and take note. - T models the clusters /sl /, / sm /, / sn /, / sw/ for a few times and explains the differences in producing them. - listen the clusters carefully. - T plays the tape once for sts to hear the words containing these clusters. - repeat after the tape - T plays the tape again and asks sts to Lop11.com.

<span class='text_page_counter'>(2)</span> repeat after the tape. * Pronouncing words containing the clusters. - T reads the words in each column all at once. - T reads the words once again to help sts distinguish the differences between the clusters in the words. - T reads the words and asks sts to repeat them. - T asks sts to practise pronouncing the words in pairs. - T goes around providing help. - T asks some sts to pronounce the words and gives correction. * Practise the dialogue containing the target clusters. - T reads the dialogue and asks sts to underline the words with the clusters and write /sl /, / sm /, / sn /, / sw/ under them. - T asks sts to practise the dialogue in pairs - T goes around providing help - T asks some sts to read the dialogue and gives feedback. 3. Grammar a. Relative pronouns with prepositions. * Presentation. - T writes two examples about the relative pronouns with the prepositions on the board and asks sts to comment on them. Eg: - She is the woman to whom I gave the money. - The book about which you are talking is very interesting. - T elicits the comments from sts and makes clear that: + Khi giới từ nằm ở cuối mệnh đề chúng ta cã thÓ bá §TQH vµ cã thÓ dïng “that” thay cho “who” vµ “which” trong M§QH giíi h¹n. + Khi giới từ nằm ở trước các ĐTQH thì chúng ta không được lược bỏ ĐTQH và kh«ng ®­îc dïng “who” vµ “that”.. - listen the words carefully - listen the words carefully - listen and repeat - practise pronouncing the words in pairs. - ask for help if necessary. - pronounce the words.. - listen and underline - practise the dialogue in pairs. - ask for help if necessary. - read the dialogue aloud.. 12 mins - copy down and give comments on them.. Homework - T asks sts to do the extra exercises in the workbook. VI. Feedback 1.
