2.Warm up: ( 5ms)



Play the song from Unit 2, ask students to sing along and do corresponding actions.

 Name some colours and ask the students to repeat.



 Use the structure: “I like..” and ask the students hold up the
colour pencils/ crayons they like.


 Have the students colour the apples that have Aa in them.

 Give the students 2 minutes to colour in the apples that have


Aa in them. Go around the classroom providing any
necessary help.


<b>Activity: </b>



Number the apples in exercise 6 from one to



six.



 Ask the students to put their thumbs up if the apple has Aa in
it and put their thumbs down if the apple does not have Aa in
it.


e.g. Teacher: (point to the apple number one in the book)
Apple number one. Up or Down?


Class: (putting their thumbs up)


Teacher: Good! And apple number two? Up or Down?

<b>Activity 7:</b>



Show the students the acrobat phonics card.



Point to it and say: /

<b>{/ - acrobat. Ask them </b>


to repeat.



 Mime trying to keep balance and say: /<b>{/ - acrobat. </b>
Encourage the students to do the same


 Point to the pictures, the students do the corresponding
actions and say the words.


<i>*( students with disability can repeat very slowly)</i>


 Have students colour the pictures of the words that start with
the a sound.


<b>Activity: Craftwork</b>


 Ask the students to take out their notebooks.


 Ask them to choose one word then draw the letter and the
picture in their notebooks.


 Tell them to colour the letter and the picture.


 The three first students who finish will show their picture to
the class.

 Have the class repeat its sound chorally, then individually
<i>*( students with disability can say aloud very slowly and lazy)</i>
 Have the students say the sound individually, correct the


pronunciation if necessary

<b>Activity 2:</b>




 .Copy the box from the book to the board



 Tell the students that you are going to write the letter Aa into the
box


 Demonstrate the writing


 Put Phonics cards of an ant and a bee


 Draw 2 small square boxes underneath them on the board
 Ask the students which one goes with letter Aa and then tick the


correct box


Tell the students that they are going to write the letter Aa in the boxes
in their book and tick the correct picture that corresponds to the


<b>Activity 3</b>
<b>Writing</b>


 Put the Phonics card (ant) on the board.


 Copy the dashed line from question 1 in the book to the board
<i> Demonstrate tracing the line to connect the ant and the word __nt</i>
 Ask the students for the missing letter and write it in the gap
 Have the students do the same procedure in their book

 Go around and give help as needed



<b>Activity 4</b>



Show and point to each picture on page 3 and say



the sound and then the word. Students listen and


nod or shake their head. If they nod, trace a


circle with your finger around the picture.
