Thì quá khứ đơn và thì quá khứ tiếp diễn được dùng khi một hành động này đang

Thì quá khứ tiếp diễn được dùng để diễn tả hai hành động xảy ra song song với

1.2. Thì hiện tại hoàn thành diễn tả một hành động xảy ra trong q khứ mà khơng xá định
rõ thời gian.
Ví dụ: I have met him somewhere.
1.3. Thì quá khứ đơn diễn tả một hành động đã hoàn thành trong khoảng thời gian trong
q khứ, khơng cịn liên quan đến hiện tại.

1.4. Thì hiện tại hồn thành dienx tả hành động đã hoàn thành trong khoảng thời gian bây
giờ chưa qua.

<b> THE RICE-COOKING FESTIVAL</b>
This reported how the Rice-cooking festival was held. The festival was held in the
communal House yard about one kilometer away from a river. There were three
competitions: water-fetching, fire -making and rice-cooking. The festival took one day. In
the water-fetching contest one person from each team had to run to the river to get the
water. In the fire-making contest two team members had to make a fire in the traditional
way. They tried to rub pieces of bamboo together to make the fire. Six people from each
team took part in the rice-cooking contest. They had to separate the rice from the husk and
then cook the rice.
After three contests, all the points were added and the Thon Trieu group won the
grand prize. The festival was wonderful.
