1. Purpose / Target:
The test serves standardized impression body for the evaluation of the behavior of coatings
with the impression attempt according to Buchholz.

2. Description of the procedure:
2.1) ) Testing sets
Impact body as per DIN 53153
Loupe as per DIN 58383

2.2) ) Execution
The coated sample board are long stored at least 12 hours. For check the impression body is
put smoothly and without tilting and lateral moving on the sample sheet metal and left there
for 30 ± 1 second. After this time the impression body is carefully again taken off.

2.3) Analysis

After taking the impression body off the length of the developed impression with the loupe is
measured. From the measured value with that following table (from DIN 53153) the
impression resistance is determined after Buchholz (column 3).

If this value does not correspond to the pre-set value, then a second test is to be executed on
the same sheet metal.
