1. Purpose / Target:
The impact test serves the evaluation of the resistance of coatings against cracking and/or
replacement from the metallic background for the evaluation with a deformation by shock
loading.

2. Description of the procedure:
2.1) Testing sets

2.2) ) Execution
The coated sample sheet metals must be stored before the check at least 12 h. If no special test
conditions are proven, then the following standard conditions apply:
The tappet mass must amount to 2 lbs.
The head is determined with the stop ring at 10 inch.
The sample sheet metal is put on the stencil of the testing set, and the drop body is raised up

to the adjusted head (stop ring). In this height the drop body is omitted and falls on the sample
sheet metal.

2.3) Analysis
The developed depression at the exterior is searched with the eye on cracking examines. If the
result does not correspond to the pre-set value the check of the same sheet metal is in such a
way repeated.
