Objectives: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to write about a picnic in the countryside by using cues II. Preparations. Textbook, pictures, chalk III. Proceduces: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1/ WARM – UP. (5’). - Asking Ss some questions. 1. Have you ever gone on a picnic ? 2. Where do you often go on a picnic ? 3. How do you get there ? 4. Do you enjoy your picnic ? 5. Do you want to tell about your picnic 2/ PRE-WRITING. (10’). * Activity 1 - Have Ss look at the pictures , then answer the questions. 1. How did you and your friends go on a picnic ? 2. Where did you have a picnic ? 3. What did you take on a trip ? * Activity 2 - Introducing the new words and explaining them + blanket (n) + lay , laid , laid (v) + lay out + picnic site (n). - Answer the questions. - Look at the pictures and answer the questions. - Listen and take notes.

Tell me what the title of the passage . -Hav Ss read the cues carefully and guiding Ss to write the passage 3/ WHILE - WRITING. (18’). - Have ss to write a narrative writing, using the elictings on the board - Give some comments on student’s writing by correcting one group - Present the suggested writing “It was a beautiful day , my friends and I decided to go on a picnic . We took a bus to the countryside and walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site next to a river . When we arrived , we put down the blankets and laid out the food . After meal we played some games such as “what song is it ?” and blind man’s buff . Late in the afternoon we went fishing . We enjoyed our picnic . When we looked at the time , it was nearly 6.30 pm . We hurriedly gathered the things and ran to the bus stop . We were lucky to catch the last bus and we arrived home very late in the evening” . - Have ss retell the main ideals of the writing by looking at the pictures of the picnic 4/ POST - WRITING. (10’). - Have ss play game “What song is it?” - Organize the game - Tell the winer 5/ HOMEWORK. (2’). - Revise the lesson - Prepare language focus. - Work in four groups - Correct each other - Copy. - Retell. - Two group sing the song they know(they can sing in English or in Vietnamese) - Other guess: What song is it? - Write homework. Answer the question: What do you wish? 5. Give some prepositions of time 6. Complete the sentence: I don’t have a bike so I don’t ………………………………………….. 2/ EXERCISES. (30’). a/ Exercise 1. * Activity 1 - Have ss look at the picture and give the situation: Ba doesn’t have a new bike. What does he wish?. Student’s activities - Play game => passed , stayed => I wish I…….. => at, in, on, for…. => So I don’t go ………….. - Look at the picture => He wishes He could have a new bike. => He wishes he could have a new bike.
