ORIGINATIO
N
• Nha Nhac originated in 13th century
in Viet Nam but until Nguyen
dynasty, it would completely
become perfect.
• It is a mainstream genre of the
imperial dynasty in Vietnam
society.
• It was used at the opening and closing
of ceremonies, religious holidays,
coronations, funerals ,…




CHARACTERI
Although it was used in the royal palace, most of
STIC

the creativity and performance was done by folk
artists who, thanks to their high skills, were chosen
to serve the imperial court.

• Nha nhac has been played by a lots kind of musical
instrument. The way to arrangement, lyrics were also
reached the high-level and got the perfect aesthetic
values
• The performing instruments are crafted more
carefully than folk instruments and have full sound
like the bass of the pipa and the soaring clarity of
the flute


ACHIEVEMENT
• On 7-11-2003, at 3:30 pm, Nha Nhac
Vietnam has been named on the
Representative List of Intangible
Cultural Heritage of Humanity by
UNESCO
• Among the numerous musical genres
that developed in Vietnam, only Nha
Nhac can claim a nationwide scope
and strong links with the traditions of
other East Asian countries.

Continuing to consolidate and expand traditional and royal
art exchange performances with other countries in the

region and in the world.
Extend the study of royal festivals of the Nguyen Dynasty
to selectively recreate the occasion of the Hue Festival,
creating a space and environment for regular
performances for Nha Nhac.
Organizing periodical training courses for young musicians,
advanced training courses for selected young musicians.
