Lesson 5: Language focus. a) Activity 1: - Ss listen to the dialogue & repeat. + What did Ba do on the weekend? - He went to see a movie called “ Ghosts & Monsters” + When did he see it? - He saw it on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. - Ss look at the activities of Nga, Lan, Nam, Hoa & work in pairs. - Calls Ss to play the role & can make the open dialogue. b) Activity 2: - T introduces & explains the tittle of the exercise. - Ss match the words with the pictures: Verbs Buy Make Hang Go Paint. Nouns A cake Flowers A picture of HN Colorful lamps Shopping. - Asks Ss to give the verbs in the past of it.. Pictures.

Getting started. - Ss look at the pictures & answer some questions: + Where is she from? /where does she come from ? - She comes from Japan. + Why do you know she come from Japan? - B/C she is wearing a Kimono. - Ss discuss in groups & write on board. Listen & read: a) Prereading: - T introduces “Ao dai”: - Asks Ss to make T/F statements: 1. The Aodai isn’t the traditional dress of Vietnamese women. 2. Aodai was used to wear by both men & women. 3. Vietnamese women today often prefer to wear Aodai at work because it is more convenient. 4.
