Superlatives. - Hình thức so sánh nhất của các tính từ có một âm tiết BE + THE + ADJ + EST Eg: This tower is the tallest Minh is the tallest student in my class - Hình thức so sánh của các tính từ có 2 âm tiết trở lên BE + THE MOST + ADJ Eg: Ba is the most intelligent student in our school. * Note: - Với một số tính từ ta phải gấp đôi mẫu tự cuối trước khi thêm “er” hoặc “est”. Eg: big -> bigger- the biggest Hot -> hotter -> the hottest Wet -> wetter ->the wettest -Các tính từ có 2 âm tiết thường có hình thức so sánh hơn là “more + adj + than”, nhưng khi tính từ từ có 2 âm tiết tận cùng bằng “y” như “happy”, “funny” thì hình thức so sánh hơn là “ adj + er +than” và hình thức so sánh nhất là “ the + adj + est”. Eg: easy -> easier -> the easiest Happy -> happier -> the happiest Funny -> funnier -> the funniest - Các tính từ có 2 âm tiết khác thường có dạng so sánh hơn là “er” và so sánh nhất là “est” là những tính từ tận cùng bằng “le, ow, er,et” Eg: noble -> nobler ->the noblest Yellow -> yellower -> the yellowest Clever -> cleverer -> the cleverest - Hình thức so sánh hơn và so sánh nhất của các tính từ bất quy tắc Eg: good -> better -> the best Bad -> worse -> the worst Far -> farther / further -> the farthest/ furthest B. I.Aims : Help Ss to grasp the use of simple present tense and indefinite quantifier .-Ss can practice and do exercises well II. Preperation : Books , reference books II. Procedure A. LÝ THUYẾT I. The simple present tense * Cấu tạo: S + V(s/ es) * Cách dùng: Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một thói quen hay việc thường làm ở giai đoạn hiện tại. Ví dụ: Nurses look after patients in hospitals. * Lưu ý: -Đối với các chủ ngữ là ngôi thứ nhất số ít hoặc số nhiều, ngôi thứ 2 số ít hoặc số nhiều và ngôi thứ 3 số nhiều thì động từ theo sau nó ở dạng nguyên mẫu không có “to”. -Đối với các chủ ngữ là ngôi thứ 3 số ít thì động từ theo sau nó được thêm “s” hoặc “es”, nếu những động từ đó tận cùng bằng các chữ cái “ch, s, sh, ss, tch, x, z, zz” thì chúng ta thêm “es”, những động từ còn lại thì chúng ta thêm “s”. Ví dụ: watch-> watches Kiss-> kiss Stop-> stops - Đối với các động từ tận cung bằng “y” thì ta phải chuyển “y” thành “i” trước khi them “es”. Ví dụ: study -> studies Fly -> flies - Trường hợp động từ “play” và “stay” và một số động từ có dạng tương tự chúng ta chỉ thêm “s”. Ví dụ: play -> plays Stay -> stays - các trạng từ thường đi kèm trong thì hiện tại đơn là: always, sometimes, often, usually, never, every day, every week, every year……….. II. Indefinite quantifier: “much, many, a lot of, lots of” * much và many Chúng ta dung “much” với danh từ không đếm được và “many” với danh từ đếm được Ví dụ: much time much luck much energy Many friends many students many rooms.

LÝ THUYẾT The present progressive tense Thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn thường được dùng trong tiếng anh với những hành động đang xảy ra tại hiện tại, hay trong tương lai. Bài này sẽ giải thích cách cấu tạo và cách dùng của thì này với những động từ thường gặp. I/ Cấu tạo: [am/is/are + present participle]  You are watching TV.  Are you watching TV?  You are not watching TV. Cách Dùng 1: Hành động đang diễn ra ở thời điểm nói: Dùng thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn với những động từ thông thường để diễn tả một điều gì đó đang xảy ra hay không đang xảy ra ở hiện tại, tại thời điểm nói.  You are learning English now.  You are not swimming now.  Are you sleeping?  I am sitting.  I am not standing.  Is he sitting or standing?  They are reading their books.  They are not watching television.  What are you doing?  Why aren't you doing your homework? Cách dùng 2: Hành động đang trong quá trình thực hiện: Trong tiếng anh, "now" có thể nghĩa là: giây này, hôm nay, tháng này, năm này, thế kỷ này... Đôi khi chúng ta sử dụng thì Hiện Tại Tiếp Diễn để diễn đạt chúng ta đang trong quá trình làm gì đó (có thể không phải trong lúc này) Ví dụ: (Tất cả những hành động sau có thể nói khi đang ngồi ăn tối trong một nhà hàng)  I am studying to become a doctor.  I am not studying to become a dentist.  I am reading the book Tom Sawyer.  I am not reading any books right now.  Are you working on any special projects at work?.

Cách dùng 3: Tương lai gần Đôi khi người nói sử dụng thì Hiện Tại Tiếp diễn để diễn tả một hành động sẽ xảy ra hoặc không xảy ra trong tương lai gần. Ví dụ:  I am meeting some friends after work.  I am not going to the party tonight.  Is he visiting his parents next weekend?  Isn't he coming with us tonight? Cách dùng 4: Diễn tả một thói quen xấu, dùng với "always" Thì Hiện Tại Tiếp Diễn với "always" hay "constantly" diễn tả một thòi quen xấu, gây phản cảm cho người khác. Chúng ta cần lưu ý rằng về ý nghĩa nó giống như thì Hiện tại đơn nhưng khác nhau về mặt sắc thái. Với thì Hiện Tại tiếp diễn, hành động thường mang sắc thái tiêu cực. Ví dụ:  She is always coming to class late.  He is constantly talking. I wish he would shut up.  I don't like them because they are always complaining. LƯU Ý: Non-Continuous Verbs/ Mixed Verbs Chúng ta cần lưu ý rằng, các động từ tình thái hay động từ hỗn hợp không thể được chia ở thì Hiện Tại Tiếp Diễn. Thay vì dùng thì tiếp diễn chúng ta sẽ dùng thì đơn giản tương đương với nó để thay thế.  She is loving this chocolate ice cream. Not Correct  She loves this chocolate ice cream. Correct VỊ TRÍ TRẠNG NGỮ Những ví dụ sau chỉ ra vị trí của cách trạng từ như: always, only, never, ever, still, just, etc.  You are still watching TV.  Are you still watching TV? * Exercises I.
