A. Living in our modern world is very different from what living was when our
grandfathers were young .Learning to use machines is very important today. Only a few
years ago, most of work of the world was done by hands .Today we use machines for
everything, both for working and playing.
Machines have affected in some way the lives of people all over the world .They
have made possible mass production of all kinds of manufactured goods .Now more
families everywhere can buy cars, refrigerators, washing machines, television sets, factorymade clothing and thousands of other things which our grandfathers did not have.

B. Language learners learn words in different ways. Some learners make a list and put
into it the meanings of new words in their mother tongue, and try to learn them by heart.
However, others do not. Instead, they write one or two example sentences with each new

word in order to remember how to use the word in the right way.
There are also different ways of learning the same number of words. For example,
if you try to learn ten words in two days, you can do so in two ways. You can learn the
first five words the first day, and then learn the other five the next day. However, because
revision is nescessary, you can learn all the ten words the first day and revise them the next
day. This helps you practice the words more times.
Language learners should try different ways of learning words so as to find out the best
way for themselves.

reality, it has both advantages and disadvantages.
There are certainly many advantages to live in the country. First of all, you can enjoy peace
and quiet. Moreover, people tend to be friendlier. A further advantage is that there is less traffic,
so it is safer for young children.
However, there are certain drawbacks to live outside the city. Firstly, because there
are fewer people, you are likely to have few friends. In addition, entertainment is difficult
to find, particularly in the evening. Furthermore, there are fewer shops and services which
means that it is hard to find work. In conclusion, it can be seen that the country is more

suitable for some old people than others. On the whole, it is often the best for those who
are retired or who have young children. In contrast, young people want to get careers
which are better provided in the city.
