- Pronuonce two-syllabe words with the stress on the first syllyable: ’city, ’village,
’mountains, ’tower.
- Improve listening, speaking skills.

- Tell pupils to write about one of their friends.
- Write small letters for other words in the sentence.

mark(‘) to indicate word stress.
- Write ‘city, ‘village, ’mounains and ‘tower.
- Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat them,
paying attention to the target words and stress.
- Get some pupils to say the sentences, while the
rest of the class claps at the stressed syllables of
the target words. Correct the pronunciation, if

necessary.
