Instructor Notes
This module provides a capstone activity in the form of a game titled the
Exchange 2000 Challenge. This activity reinforces the concepts and skills
needed to manage and configure an Exchange 2000 organization.
Materials and Preparation
This section provides the materials and preparation tasks that you need to teach
this module.
Required Materials
To teach this module, you need the following materials:

Module Strategy
Use the following strategy to present this module:
!
Taking the Exchange 2000 Challenge
Make sure you have reviewed and practiced the game and that you have all
materials ready. This version of the Exchange 2000 Challenge does not
include a timer function. You will have to provide you own timing during
this activity.
Explain that the purpose of the activity is to review information learned.
Read the instructions for the Final Challenge just prior to playing that part
of the game.
To start the game:
• Write a number between 1-10 on a slip of paper. Have each team guess a
number. The team that comes the closest to the number goes first.
• Inform the students how you will track time.
• Read the instructions to the students.

Customization Information
This section identifies the lab setup requirements for a module and the
configuration changes that occur on student computers during the labs. This
information is provided to assist you in replicating or customizing Microsoft
Official Curriculum (MOC) courseware.
There are no labs in this module, and as a result, there are no lab setup
requirements or configuration changes that affect replication or customization.

Activity: The Exchange 2000 Challenge


Instructions for Exchange 2000 Challenge:
1. When it is your team’s turn, your team will select a category and point level
for the question you want to try to answer.
2. The instructor will read the question aloud and your team will have the
opportunity to confer for 30 seconds prior to answering the question.
3. A representative of your team will present your answer. The instructor will
ask if this is your final answer, at which time your team will be able to alter
their response if you so desire.
4. After your final answer is given, the instructor will reveal the correct
answer.
5. If your team has answered correctly, the points won for that question will be
added to your team’s total score. If your team has answered incorrectly, the
points lost for the question will be deducted from your team’s score.
6. Questions that are answered incorrectly are discarded and the other team
does not get the opportunity to win points by answering the question
correctly.
7. After a question is chosen from the board, the indicator for that question is
no longer available.
8. After a team has responded to a question, regardless of whether their
response is correct or incorrect, play moves to the other team.
9. There will be a Final Exchange 2000 Challenge question in which your
team will have the opportunity to wager a percentage of your winnings on a
final challenge question.
