từ)

Khi DĐT làm chủ ngữ, nó đi với động từ ở
dạng số ít

Động từ + giới từ + DĐT:

approve of / be better off / call for / confess
to / give up / insist on / keep on / look forward
to / rely on / succeed in / think about / think of
/ count on / depend on / object to / put off /

worry about / prevent from / protect from


She gave up smoking two years ago.

Một số động từ có thể đứng trước DĐT
hoặc động từ nguyên thể mà nghĩa
không thay đổi:

begin / can’t stand / continue / dislike /
dread / hate / intend / like / love / mean /
start /try
DANH ĐỘNG TỪ

Một số động từ có thể đi với danh động từ
hoặc động từ nguyên thể nhưng nghĩa
cũng thay đổi theo: forget / remember /
stop

Forget + to V(inf.): He forgets to call his
friends (He will have to call his friends but he
forgets it.)

Forget + Ving: He forgets calling his friends.
(He called his friends and then he forgets it.)

Remember to V(information):


I remember to send a letter to my boss. (I
will have to send a letter and I remember
it.)

Remember + Ving:

I remember sending a letter to my boss. (I
sent a letter to my boss and I remember
it.)

Stop to V(inf): They stopped to take a
rest. (They did not do what they were
doing and then they took a rest.)

Stop Ving: They stopped taking a rest.
(They did not take a rest any more.)




HTPT: a crying child,


