Unit 6: PLACES
Lesson 4 (C1-2)

I. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, the Ss practice more prepositions of place: in front
of, behind, to the left/ right of, to describe the position of a house.
II. Language contents:
- Grammar: Simple present tense: There is / there are
- Vocabulary: in front of, behind, to the right ,to the left
III. Techniques: slap the board, lucky number, write it up, group works, pair
works, ask and answer.
IV. Teaching aids: lesson plan, textbook, pictures page 68, 69 and cassette
V. Time : Allotted 45 minutes.
VI. Procedures:
1. Warm up (3’) Greeting
Play a game Jumbles words
Tyci = city
Ditaums = stadium
Seouh = house
Rytofac = factory
2. Check up (5’)
Write the words that T read & the meaning
Discribe you house

I.Presentation.
1. Vocabulary.
- in front of: ở phía trước
- behind: ở đằng sau.
- to the right of:ở bên phải
- to the left of: ở bên trái
- opposite: đối diện
- a well: cái giếng
- a mountain: ngọn núi
2. Read the text

II.Practice.
*.Ask and answer the questions.
(p. 68)
a. Where is the yard?
b. Where are the tall trees/
c. Where are the mountains?
d. Where is the well?

- Have Ss ask and answer the
questions ( a-> f /p. 68).

- Give Ss 3 minutes to prepare.
- Ss work in pairs
3. Further practice.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and
think of the positions of things
around the house.
- Have Ss listen to the tape and find

which houses are described.
- Ss look at the pictures and listen
to the tape at the same time.
- Call on Ss to give their ideas after
listening
- T correct.
* Writing.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures
again and write sentences

f. Where is the house?
Example exchange:
S1: Where are the tall trees?
S2: They are behind the house.
III. Further practice:
1. Listen: C2/ P. 69: Matching.
a. Which is Ba’s house? A
b. Which is Lan’s house? A
c. Which is Tuan’s house? B

2.Writing. Write about Ba,Tuan
and Lan’s houses.
+ Red team:
- There are a lot of flowers in front
of Ba’s house………
+ Bue team:
- Ther are tall trees to the right of the
house………
V. Homework.
- Learn by heart the Vocab.
