1. Guiding questions :
a/ Does your family use TV, stereo, electric fans, refrigerator?

- T present the new lesson
- Have Ss look at the pictures on P. 57
- T ask some questions to make clear the situation in the pictures

- Ss look at the pictures and find out the waste of energy in the pictures:
+ The water is pouring out of the basin
+ The TV is on while no one is watching it.
+ The stereo is on while no one is listening to it.
+ The TV and the stereo are used at the same time.

+ The light is burning.
* What should we do to save energy?
- Ask Ss to discuss and make a list of things they could do to save energy.
+ Turn off the faucet.
+ Turn off the TV or the stereo.
+ Don’t turn on the stereo and the TV at the same time.
+ Turn off the light if it isn’t necessary.
