I. Pronunciation
(10ms)
a. Practise the words:
T introduces 3 sounds /h/, /r/, /l/ for a few
times and explains the differences in
pronouncing them

- Ss listen to the tape and repeat
- Ss repeat in individually
NOTES:
+ Letter “h” is silent when it follows
“g, k, g” at the beginning of the word,
or in the words "honest, hour, honour"
+ Letter “r” is silent if there is no
vowel sound after it
+ Letter “l” is silent in the words “
half, calm, talk, could

Read aloud the given sentences and
underline words contain 3 sounds /h/,
/r/,/l/

Read individually

T asks Ss to work in pairs and take turn
to read aloud the given sentences (p. 39,
Practise these sentences).
T goes around to listen and takes notes of
the typical errors.
T calls some Ss to read the sentences
again.
II. Grammar: (33ms)
*Review infinitive , To –infinitive
*Infinitive (meaning in the future)
*V-ing (meaning in the past)
Asks Ss work in groups to divide the list
of verbs into 2 groups: verbs followed by
INF and verbs followed by Gerund

avoid, ask, dislike, keep, offer, finish,
promise, intend, delay, consider,
suggest, mention, hope

*Gerund (V-ing)
Là hình thức động từ được sử dụng như
một danh từ và có chức năng giống như
một danh từ

- Subject (chủ ngữ): Smoking is bad
for health
- Object (t©n ng÷):
-Sau một số từ: enjoy, appreciate,
mind, risk, postpone, quit, avoid,
dislike, keep, finish, mention, consider,
suggest, delay
- Sau giới từ:
- Sau một số cụm từ:
It’s no good, It’s(not) worth,it’s not any
good/use
- Subject complement (bổ ng÷ cho chủ
ng÷)
+ His interest is colecting stamps
-Sau một số từ với Have:have (any),
