*DEFINITION: Radioactive pollution
is the deposition of, or presence of
radioactive substances on surfaces
or within solids, liquids or gases
(including the human body)

*CAUSES: Radioactive pollution can have many
different causes:

-Nuclear explosions and detonations of nuclear
weapons

-Defense weapon production

-Nuclear waste handling and disposal

-Mining

-Nuclear accidents

*EFFECTS:
-Humans: When people are exposed to
radiation or work in power plants, their
children may have birth defects. Radioactive
pollution can make people have many


diseases such as white blood cells, bone
marrow skin cancer and even die.
-Animals and plants: Radioactive pollution can
cause their abnormal growth.
RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION

*SOLUTIONS:
-The nuclear power plants must follow all the
safe instruction.
-The disposal of radiation material must be
safe.
-The wastes with a very low radiation must be
put into the sewage.
