Should
 Tell your host in advance about your diet
 Wait until your host start eating
 Can use fingers for pizza and chicken in informal setting

 Use knife to butter bread and put it on your side plate

 Eat all the food you are served
 In restaurant: put money on the plate the bill comes


Should not
 Never lick or put knife in your mouth

 Never chew with your mouth open
 Never have your elbow on the table when eating
 Never reach over someone’s plate for something
 Never blow your nose on the napkin


How to use fork and knife

 Fork: in your left hand
Knife: in your right hand


 Rest: fork and knife on the plate between mouthfuls (4 and 8 o’clock)
 Finish: fork and knife at 5 o’clock
