The Way People Live

Employee benefits
Madrid, 5th April, 2010

I was longing for this day to arrive and it is finally here! As from
tomorrow your dad will be retired.
The time has come to stop rushing around, stay at home, go and play
bowls every evening and be able to visit you and your family more often.
My former boss organised a farewell party for me and another three
cashiers leaving the bank and they gave each of us a wrist watch. I’ll send
you the photograph.
After having worked at the bank for fifteen years, I have many benefits: an
excellent Social Welfare Plan, Health Care, Dental Coverage, Paid Holidays
and now my Pension plus Life Insurance.
Now I have to get used to having so much time on my hands. To start with,
I’ve enrolled for an Arabian cooking course at the local Community Hall.
Your Mum wants to come and visit you all in Brazil right now, but I
would prefer to have the house painted first. You’ll hear from us next
week.
A big hug for you, Andrew and my lovely grandchildren, Andrea and Diego.

Love,

Dad
