A/ Aim: Practice in talking about preparations and listen for details.
B/ Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to talk about their preparations for a special
event
C/ Preparation: Chart (mapped dialogue) , poster , tape recorder .
D. Procedure :
I. Warm up: Find things in common
- Ss think of 5 things they often prepare for Tet & write them down on a piece of paper. Divide the
class into 2 sizes.
Choose one student randomly in a side and ask him / her call his / her words while the Ps in
the other side check (ü) the words on their paper same as that student’s. The student who has the
most same answer will get 1 good mark.

The Rice - cooking Festivals

This report shows how the (1) rice-cooking festival wa held .
The festival was held in the communal house yard about (2) one kilometer away from
the river . There were three competitions : (3) water-fetching , fire-making and ricecooking . The festival took one day .
In the water-fetching contest one person from each team had to (4) run to the river to
get the (5) water .
In fire-makingcontest two team members had to make a fire in the (6) traditional way
. They tried to rub pieces of (7) bamboo together to make fire .
(8) Six people from each team took part in the rice-cooking contest . Thay had to (9)
separate the rice from the husk and then cook rice .
After the three contests , all the points were (10) added and the Thon Trieu group
won the grangd prize . The festival was wonderful .

Posible answer :
This report shows how the Mid - Autumn festival was held in my neighborhood .
The Mid - Autumn festival ( Tet Trung Thu ) was held on the 15th of August ( according
to Lunar Calendar ). This festival was specially organized for children .It was held in
the yard of the Cultural House in my village .The main festival lasted for about three
hours when the moon is at its fullest . During the festival , children took part in various
activities like : singing ans shouting , wearing masks , parading on the roads and
banging the drums .
Besides , children ate a very special cake called Moon Cakes ( Banh Trung Thu ) .
They are filled with lotus seeds , orage peel , ground beans and sometimes eggs and
pork fat for flavor .

Children went on playing traditional games until mid - night .
I think this festival is a very special occation for Vietnamese people and especially for
children to play and enjoy on a variety of activities . Moreover , children would
understand more about Vietnamese traditions .
