II. The past simple.(Thì quá khứ đơn)

- Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra vào một thời gian xác định trong quá khứ
(Yesterday, last week, the day before, … ) và không còn liên quan đến hiện tại

III. The present perfect.(Thì hiện tại hoàn thành)

Note :
- Thì HTHT diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu trong quá khứ , còn tiếp tục ở hiện
tại và vẫn chưa hoàn thành ơ hiện tại .Thì này thường dễ được nhận thấy qua cách
dùng của các trạng từ chỉ khoảng thời gian “for” và “since”.
Ex:

We’ve learned English for 5 years
She has been Hue since 1989

- Thì HTHT diễn tả một hành động vừa mới xảy ra và thường có các trạng từ
sau đây đi kèm ( just, already , recently, ever, never)

I am Tom. Peter is my best friend. I am very happy to make friends with him.
Each of us, however, has a different character.
Peter is a hard-working student. He spends all his time studying and reading.

He does not usually talk much in public and especially likes the peace and
quiet of the school library. At school, he does not participate in social
activities much, but he often helps children at a local orphanage.

A new bookstore has just been built near my house. Everyone in my
